Fast06SS's hptuner calibration is awesome!

Well, just wanted to give a big thanks to Rob (Fast06SS) for hooking me up with a kick a$$ calibration for my car. I went with a 2.5 pully and 60lb injectors. WOW.... is all I can say..

EDIT: Also note... instead of runing the 2.1.10 version we are running the 2.1.11beta that has some fixes for map and knock..plus a few other things.
He did things in the calibration with hptuners that would take me a month to learn. Certain things I would not even think of changing(plus knowing how would take some time) and the the difference is amazing.

examples...of the changes... EDIT: A log of differences is posted a few posts down...

Zinner... yes he changed all that stuff.... I just didnt want to post all the changes without Rob's consent from the history log. So I edited out the changes.

I paid him $100 because I already have HPtuners....it's $200 I think without having hptunners.

The car seat of the pants feel is UNREAL.... WOW.... need a dyno soon

I actually copied and pasted and viewed the changes with the compare feature.

Props to Fast06SS My speed shop will order HPTuners software within roughly one week, then I will pay Rob to get a base pre-tuned file to go with the 60 lb/hr injectors, 7000 RPM limiter and 2.6" pulley.

so you don't need the gm re-flash to get a higher rev limiter? Could I unlock some more ponies with a fairly stock set up?

Out of respect, i would think you should ask privately. He paid for it so it is up to him.

Thats like going to a dealer and saying, hey, could you give me that stage 2 flash for free.

In Rob's defense...

We don't know what would/ would not work for your car currently - we don't know what you have there with you, or who you know... The guy paid Rob for the .HPT, so yeah, it's kinda touchy that you now want to download it and look at it when all that money was spent for it. Kind of like downloading a program to try it out from your buddies... Who's going to know if you didn't just take it for free?

I got your back Rob

I know it's going to happen sooner or later, i just don't think it is proper etiquette to ask in public

If your mod's were the same as mine, then my file would work perfect in your car as is.

If you have smaller injectors or a smaller pulley, then some things would need changed but the base file would make a great starting point.

I do offer free upgrades to purchased/paid parties

geez guys calm down..... I dont even have a cobalt or ion for that matter........i just wanted to see some of the things you guys are doin...but whatever if your havin a cow forget i even asked.

1. its vin specific so all i could really do is look @ it.
2. I work @ dealer and have given many a "free" upgrade to the local guys
3. If i were being asked i woudl give out the info to beter support the group.
4. I know he paid for it, the credits for the software arent free. They are roughly $50 bucks a piece and you need 2. Ok and whatever else was paid was for the "knowledge" of the guy doin the programming.

As for the free part, why is ther e a list of downloadable programs @ this website, many have really crazy tunes, Oh thats right its for the betterment of all. There are almost 350 and .......whats this oh yea its constantly updated

The tune is NOT VIN locked

I have worked for dealers for 16yrs, you get nothing for free as there is always a catch

3. If i were being asked i woudl give out the info to beter support the group.

I have! I have already given out ALLOT of info! At my shop, i charge the cobalt guys "warranty times" on repairs or upgrades and at a reduced labor rate. 350.00 for a clutch install!!

4. I know he paid for it, the credits for the software arent free. They are roughly $50 bucks a piece and you need 2. Ok and whatever else was paid was for the "knowledge" of the guy doin the programming.

Software is 100.00 per car, or 1500.00 for all the LSJ's As for the paying part, this is my career, my source of income. I have to put food on the table for my kid's, provide shelter, etc:. I could post you a quote from another car forum where one of our customers said to hurry up and get work done at thier shop before they figurre out they are charging to little!! Another local WELL known shop said we must not know what we are doing on our tunes since we charge so little! You don't have to pay as you have found. But when it is my source of income, i refuse to give it away for free. Sorry.

Out of respect for Rob I won't give out his program...besides he did a few things here that are specific to my car only. I paid for his knowledge of tuning and that's what I got... A specific calibration for my individual car. If I go and post his stuff...that wouldn't be right.

It's not locked so I can edit and change things as I like. But I personally don't want others using my VIN when they flash there computers. My VATs is stored there, and I don't need a dealership calling me because some kid brung in a car with a computer with my vin on it. Each car is different....react different. Read the HP tuner site and they specifcally say that. Link below... for more info

http://www.hptuners.com/forum/showth...wnloading+tune

I know people want to see what he did....so they can duplicate it and learn. He's already given out a ton for free knowledge, but giving away a program that he spent time making is like stealing. He's not charging much....most people pay $300-500 for tunes.... what's a few bucks in his pocket. If you plan on buying and mass distributing...at least rip off someone who's making a fortune or something. This is just track money and tire money to race for Rob.

Thanks Rob for the help....
