Civics.......

I was driving on Route 80 last night bringing my g/f home, doing a steady abotu 72-75. And this civic comes cruising up from behin doing a good 90 I guess. So I hit the gas to just play a lil catch up but as I hit the gas so did he. It was a STOCK like early 90's civic. So Im just sitting there keeping up with him doing like maybe 95-100. I noticed that my exit was coming up in a few so I floor it and so does he. The civic had a good 4-5 car lengths on me when I started. I passed him in about 3 seconds. It was basically a waste of gas on my part. I don't understand why these drivers even attempt to race when they have to be able to hear my exhaust because its really loud, and they are driving a stock car. WTF is with these dumb civic drivers????

Edit: I stopped at about 115-120 (gf said) I wasn't lookign at the speedo

okay.. back in 2003 when the newset cavi rolled out motor trend had a little collage contest. Can chevys new cavalier out run the honda civic? one senior said "what? a chevy against a Honda? no way, that is so wacked" (exact words) they were all in aww when the chevy pounded the civic to 60 and killed it on the 1/4 mile.. not sure stats but thats what MT said. now im not into the magizine at all. except for future vehicles. and i have nothing against civic drivers, as long as they know their place.. behind cobalts.. speed wise don't flame me!! alot of kids think their stock civics are really fast! chevy against a honda? i can think of 4 chevys off the bat that will kill a stock honds (once again non si civics) chevy cobalt ss chevy cobalt ss/sc chevy corvette and chevy silverado.. yes silverado. it makes me mad. SIs are quick and the look okay but unless you have a modded civic you cant talk... AGAIN NOT AN SI

when i had my 2.2 the governor shut it off at 105 but i have been hearing more and more cases of them going faster...i wonder what the deal is with that. I also ran the same as you at the track but trapped 2mph faster with a full tank of 87...........good luck with everything

its the 2.2's with hub caps that are shut off at early speeds, the ls 2.2's with 16's have a higher fuel cut off

then take it back to the dealer to have them reset the limiter since it should be based on the tire speed rating
