who signed up to club civic to babysit me? i was very well behaved, and represented our site well.

theres really alot of posts of how they lost to N/A SS's. Then theres the guy who beat an ss N/a but told everyone he beat the S/C

 

LOL.....I have a friend that has an RSX and he's spent 6000 dollars just to break into low 13's, this include engine swap, turbo and other goodies. And when we only have to spend 1to 2K at the most to make our cars get into the 13's.....let them bitch over their own ignorance...ive ran plenty of em bone stock...and they'll have integras with jdm-gsr engine swaps and i still beat em....so just leave em. JUST LAUGH!

ok.let it be known, that i dont think all hondas are slow. in fact a friend of mine put an H22A1 in his 1990 accord 4dr. that ate up camaro SS's and not the slow ones, the anniversary edition! *note: he is asian, and there was motor work done. but it was N/A

 

thats not the case. they flamed me on a different thread, in the tech section. so i made a new one in the off topic area to debate them. But as far as the SS being awesome.. i thought they kind of would say that. Cause it is AWESOME!

Yea exactly. I can see the want and you feel the need to defend yourself and us here at cobaltss.net. In the end I look at it this way. Some people you can not even reason with. Facts do not mean anything and they have there opinions. Nothing will change that. I have already beat a VW new gti. The turbo one. He still talks crap on my SS/SC even though everyone at work seen me beat him by about a car length. He is chipped, intake, and exhaust. I only have intake and ingalls. Even after everyone said my car sounded awesome hearing my supercharger and taking him in the race, he still says, "its still just a slow balt." These cars will gain alot of respect as time goes on. Its just a matter of time.

 

i am aware that the Z28 is just a suspension package, kinda like the ws6, but i meant anniversary edition, so that you didn't think i meant a P.O.S. 80's one

 

Z28 is an option package much like the SS package for the Cobalt. Suspension, brake, and usualy an engine upgrade along with an apperence package.

Its more then just suspension stuff.

 

some cars are slower than others, thats just a fact of life. but when people start to talk bad about other cars and just hate them because they are domestics that are supercharged or imports then its kinda dumb. i like to think of myself as a car enthusiast, meaning i respect just about every car out there, hondas, acuras, dodge, chevy, you name it.. i like it. people just need to show some others respect even if their car is slower.

 

Not sure what he did to an h22 to get it to beat a camaro SS but I HIGHLY doubt a N/A h22is going to beat an Ls1 camaro...you can bore it out...**** it out...stroke it...rub it...fluff it...spit on it and polish it...but unless he was spraying...sorry...I'll call this one...BS!

My Thoughts Exactly. But Sometimes we need to talk some **** about them.

 

Z28 came with an LT1 or LS1 depending on the year, along with optional 3:42 gearing instead of 3:23's. The suspension was also upgraded (mildly).

The SS's, came with 3:42's, aluminum driveshaft, bigger brakes, wider tires, power steering cooler, functional ram-air, optional bilstiens suspension package, and a couple other tid bits. Not to mention with a really good driver was very capable of high 12's.

 

Okay this is kind of "late" in the thread, but since when could any honda owner call an interior cheap? My fiance had a civic and it was nothing but basic plastic, nothing special. Felt like I would break it every time I got in it.

It has nothing to do with Honda's , Toyota's etc. It has to do with ignorance and disrespect. I'll be the first to say that I have owned a prelude as a winter beater and it was a reliable car. It had zero torque though and I would never think about slappin a wing, fart can and body kit on, and racing. It had potential though, I still kick myself for selling it.

For me its not the car, but the person behind the wheel. I have shut up a few civic ricers in my short time behind the wheel of the SC when all the while I was just trying to be on my way and be left alone. Its the antagonistic, negative, disrespectful ricer that gets me.

Theres a few around here, and they know nothing about cars at all, they just bash. Thats what I hate. I like cars in general, as long as they are clean and not all ricy. I am not a fan of all sho no go.

In fact there's one guy around here who even drives a GM (Sunflower) with dual fartcans (whats better than 1 fartcan?.... 2 fartcans!!!!) and even he got up on my bumper (almost hit me cause his brakes were shot) and wanted a run. Then proceeded to do the flyby while his fat girlfriend rolled her eyes. Needless to say I took the bait though, caught up and gave him the wtf? It was on.... for him. Of course he got slaughtered, that car just got louder, it didnt actually speed up when he hit the throttle. Then , I slowed down, pulled him again until I got bored, then I let him drive by, and smiled. No one would make eye contact. Ass.

I guess my point is it's not just the honda owners who hate, it can be anyone who is ignorant etc. Not every civic driver is a ricer in my experience. Some just like the huge aftermarket scene and want to build up a week end braket racer etc for cheap. You can get an old civic, and find used parts\engines and build a half decent runner for not that much. Same can be said about any car, but I am all for drive what you wanna drive, just understand that everyone has different taste in cars, and dont hate.

They do everything in the book to get my attention. Like I am really going to backout and race your ******* down my street. give me a break.
Most of them are Honda Civic Hatchbacks and an occasional Accord 4Cyl with dual ASS Cans.
