My friends sister has the TC and for a while now we have been talking bout running our cars. Well anywho tonight was the night we ran. We only did 2 runs but thats all we neeeded. .

First run: 2 lanes wide at a traffic light. We went from a dig on green. Light turned green i eased the clutch out and just took off like a rocket. I pulled hard on him on first and got about .5-1 car length. then by the middle of second he was 2 cars back and I was gaining on him even more up till 3rd gear when i shut down at like 85ish. I prolly had about 2 cars maybe. Give or take.

Second Run: We went from a roll. from 25 mph. I was in second and for those who have the 2.2 I was at a low rpm around 2500-3000'ish. So we were steady all the way through 2ed gear untill i hit high power band and gained a little bit on him. When i threw it into 3rd gear i pulled even harder on him.

He has a 05 Scion TC Automatic w/ lowering springs (looks real mean. I like the look)

Me. 05 Chevy Cobalt w/ secret weapon-r air intake, lowering springs, short shifter.

He was honestly flabbergasted. He couldnt even understand that I just toyed w/ him 2x in a row. i sent him that video on here w/ the sedan cobalt beating the TC and he didnt believe it. Needless to say he will be thinkinig himself to sleep tonight.

Nice runs! I also raced a TC about a week ago. We raced from a roll at about 60 and we punched it. I took about 2 car lengths on him and still pulling in 4th. Then at the stoplight i pulled hard on him again. Mines bone stock.

At least i know we can own those ****, although they'll kick my ass in a car show for looks anyday, i know we can take em down on the streets now

Well when I said what he has i thought it would be easier to understand what car im talking bout then his sister. I raced my Friend tony whos sister has the TC and sicne his car is in the shop (XA) story in the massacahusetts section under HIN). . he was using his sisters car this week.

heres a pic of his rear on the way to the spot. The only time i saw his rear.

 

First the Auto tC's are slow. If you raced a 5-speed, I think the story would be different as my buddy has one and I assure you it's quicker than a 2.2. He only has cosmetic mods, so he isn't pushing any extra ponies.

 

Yeah, I agree... a properly driven 5-speed tC probably shouldn't lose to a 2.2. A 2.4, maybe, but a 5-speed tC should be faster than a 2.2.

BTW, 2K5SS/SC, your car looks great w/o the spoiler... so much cleaner looking.

So, what does a 2.2 run in the 1/4 stock? I know that a 5-speed tC is capable of mid-15's, so that may be a driver's race with a 2.2, I guess. Like I said, I don't really know what a stock 2.2 runs in the 1/4, but was thinking high 15's or so. Either way, if someone races an auto and it's fairly close, a 5-speed will put up a much better fight.

 

the 5 speed cobalts stock should do a high high 15 stock with a decent driver...low 16's with a average driver
