Cobalt SS/SC vs. S2000

Cobalt SS/SC
*Airbox Mod
*Open Downpipe

Honda S2000
*AEM Cold Air Intake
*Some suspension work

The night started out boring as usual in this shitty ass town. Met up with a few friends that drives some of the nicer cars in town. S/C SVT Focus, 320 hp SRT-4, Turbo Supra, Stage II Ion Redline, and a yellow S2000. We get to bullshitting about the big car event coming to town. Autocross, Drag Racing, and some other good ****. So my friend just bought this car, its mostly set up for autocross. Last time he took it the drag strip he broke his rear-end. The guy that drives he SRT asks me if I wanna run the S2000... Sure I said, but I was kinda unsure because our cars run about the same times. So we go out of town and do a few drops from 50.

I am sitting in second gear waiting for the third honk. When I hear it I stop on go-go pedal. Pulled about one car on him as I was reaching for third he starting reeling me in. I bang 4 12.5 PSI he is about at my boy racer wing. Then it was all over once he had to shift from his 9000k redline. After that he ran out of steam, I pulled a few cars before 100Mph. He thought the outcome was going to be much worse. The I had to explain to him that our cars run about the same time. Good and very fun night, so chalk one up for the Cobalt.

Was the 350 stock?? Just curious bc I tried to get into the middle of a 350z vs. Inf. G35 (both stock) race but a truck got in my way. Wondering how I would have done

Stock for Stock

Dig, they win without traction mods for us
Roll, we win but not by much. 3.5L loses breath at 80 and has a hard time afterwords getting good top end.

I ran the 350 from a roll and he pulled 2-3 cars on me by the time we hit about 110. I dont think they lose there breath when they are up high.

either you can't drive or they had some **** done. 3.5 is not a top end monster. it's all low end.

I kept one at my door the entire race until 90-100 and then I creeped away.

I pulled on a honda s2000 pretty much the same a little harder cause i have a 3" pulley so instead of him catching up like he was to you it was pretty much a steady pull for me.
