Cobalt SS T/C GMSTG1 kit vs. WRX 265
So I'm coming back home from hockey tonight and as I enter the boarding ramp of the autoroute I cross this WRX .. wasn't sure if he wanted to go but I dropped down in 4th just in case ... I saw that he was pretty eager as I was giving gas and letting go.. so we are at approx 75-80 miles and he decides he steps on it so he got a small head start but who cares , he didn'T know who he was against .. So I pass him in 4th and NLS in 5 th (which doesn't happen often lol) I beat him fair and square especially that he got the head start .. After passing him I decided it was time to slow down as I was up to 140 miles (won't go that fast again with winter tires)
But it was fun and frankly I was happy to finally compare my car against something worth it ..

I must say you're pretty brave going 140mph on winter tires...I know mine are only rated to 190km/h I think...lol.
I'm pretty sure you could have beat him stock too :P

It actually is a bit lower than that
And the reason I didn't go down to 3rd is because of the torque steer vs. the winter tire stability .. didn't want to take a chance
WRX 265 are the newer models that have 265 hp instead of 230ish
I agree .. my 4 th is a monster of power and I don't feel there would have been a big difference .. even then I still beat him

Race him from a dig, would be a different story. They run 13.4 stock so you with gms1 would be a better race. Oh and base they only cost 25k. For sure my next car

Yes it was a sedan.. but even if it was a hatch they still have the same engine
The weakness of those models is the suspension is too soft to hold up against our car on a track .. so if you stiffen it up a bit they are a solid fast car .. but still slower from a rolling start than a tuned SS

And I don't run stg 1... I have a dyno to back up my tq curve, and I'll be getting a new dyno this spring to see my pre-bolt ons to post-bolt ons.
I do right now... But then again I'm on Blizzaks currently with quite a bit more power/tq then stg 1. I doubt if I'll get much if any tq steer that high come spring/summer.
