I was on my way home after a tour of the Indy 500 museum today in my Mustang GT. Top down for the first time in months and I am enjoying just crusing along. This guy pulls up next to me in an Eclipse( the body type that was in 2 fast 2 furious), had at least pipes on it that were loud as hell. I didnt pay him any attention until we get to a light and he starts revving obnoxiously...... I wasnt going to do anything but after the light turns, he chirps the tires and when he realized I accelerated casually, slows down and starts weaving towards me. I flipped him off, he started screaming at me in spanish. We get to the next light and was still screaming. Finally, I told him to watch the light and we'll see what happens. Light turns, before I knew it i had a car and a half on him by the time I got to 40. I was 4 lengths ahead when I let off for the next light. He didnt even look at me after that.......


Honestly, I thought the Eclipse had more ***** than that. My Stang is a 2000 and auto, the Eclipse was a stick. I thought it would have been closer

Hell no!! The 2000-2005 Eclipse, like the one in 2 fast 2 furious, which the OP said is the one this kid was driving, is nothing more than a low 15 second car at best, usually in the mid 15's stock. My 01 Mustang GT with auto was a 14.2-14.3 second car in the 1/4 mile stock. The OP should have and did kill this guy. Nice kill!! Now the 06+ Eclipse GT's with a manual, they are low 14 second cars with a good driver and can beat 99-04 GT's with an auto.

K, honestly I have never paid much attention to that body style. I dont like them but I thought they were better than what i saw today......... The only mods on the Mustang is K&N drop in and Flowmasters. Sounds mean and decent straight line but my 2.2 will beat it around a road course any day.

 

they had a 2nd gen Eclipse in the 1st movie and a 3rd gen in the second movie. which one was it?

2 Fast 2 Furious= 3rd gen i guess. The purple ragtop. Paul Walker had the Evo

 

yea the top model was the GTS...I think it was roughly 210 crank HP...pretty slow cars. mustang all day in that race.
