Elcipse Spyder (tons of work done) vs SS/SC

So last night I was driving down I-45 with my friend following me when we pulled into Academy. There were a bunch of towtrucks that met up and were talking in the parking lot. I had just got out of my car when one of them began to aproach me. He asked if I wanted to race an eclipse. (At first I thought no problem) So I asked him some more questions about what he had done to it. He just replied with "Not much". I asked if it was Black he said "Yes", I said Red graphics he said "Yes", (I had known about this car for a while now and it is supposed to be really fast. He has a Ripp Supercharger on it and about $10,000 worth of other work done not including the carbon fiber interior and system in the trunk, or paint, etc. Well he leaves to go get his car. When he pulls up in the car I could hear the SC whistling at idle, so we leave to go to a long stretch of road around the corner. We line up, honk 3 times, and were off. He was spinning his ass off, and so was I, but slowly I begin to pull away from him, (I was supprised), more and more till I miss 3rd gear and he begins to gain back on me. We went to about 130mph but in the end I was still ahead. I couldn't believe that I beat it considering how much time and money went into his car, and all I have is an intake.

i'm not sure, but I think you may be talking about the 3g eclipse, 2000+. I'm going to assume it was a 4cyl. that was ripp supercharged. but it may have been the gt or gts model with the v6. I'm not sure. but either way, good kill man. Those cars are dog slow N/A but I've seen boosted ones that could hold their own. For some reason, the ripp sds unit isn't all that great on those 3g's though. I heard that on a mitsu forum I'm part of. I'm not real sure though.

Nice kill...I've always wondered why people go for audio *and* speed. Carbon fiber interior = less weight, only to counteract it with 50+ lbs of speakers, amps, and boxes in the trunk. Eh, maybe it's for balance?

Good kill man. One thing I have learned from racing, it doesnt matter how much $$$ you put into your car, its what you do with all that $$$ that counts. I raced a stg 2+ STi and he said he put approx 13K in mods!!! I put around 3K and spanked him all day!

I think that was his point. Driver mod is always the most important to a car. What good is putting, say, $15K into a car if you drive like a 15-yr.-old cheerleader?
