I am just curious what you are trapping to pull some of those cars from a roll with a 2.6.

People may not realize that was probably auto F-bods to do so poorly from a roll. Not that I buy it, just throwing that out there.

The TVS is better but the 2.6 he is saying will get him by until he get's it back.

stock LS1 F bodies are good for 108-109 stock traps

^ on average they are usually around 106 with the freak hitting 108 and a professional driver as high as 110. and yes a mild cammed LS1 can easily hit mid teens trap wise, a biggie cam and you can expect low 120's if set up right.

i do find this rather hard to believe as well.

and im thinking those guys were I/H because a LS1 with a nice set of perted heads is good for around 400rwhp thats a low ball. with a nice set of ported heads and a cam LS1's have hit as high as 517rwhp. which is damn near 600 fly wheel horse and more than enough to eat that cobalt alive.

i *think* [key word] these guys might have just been bolt-on only, with a LS6 intake which is i guess an intake mod for a pre 2000 LS1. but the 2000-2002 LS1's came with LS6 intake manifolds stock.

regaurdless good kills. i'd like to see some video next time thou.

Wickeds car is pretty quick and all the runs are believable. I actually got a phone call after this with him giddy as a school girl

sure the runs are believable, but not the mods on those F-bodies unless they are LT1's. that would be the only explanation. i mean whats this guy approx trapping and making at the wheels. . . no one has said not even him. he cant make an educated guess as to what he is making?

True but I have seen 3 different Z28's 2000 + and 2 SS 2000 + camaros trap 108 all stock. That are the only camaros I have ever seen run at the track. I was just stating what I have seen... I am thinking that he meant the one had a header. Heads are a big boost for an LS motor but not **** if it isn't tuned...

Yea the 2000-2002's with the LS6 intake are alot more likely to be the ones trapping between 108-110

1998, and 1999 are more likely to be trapping 105-107 roughly.

and. . .

well even if its not tuned it will still pick up power.

and who ever spends $1000 plus on heads and doesnt get a tune need their nuts popped.

a good dyno tune is like 300-400max.

Still dont think it's good enough to run mid 12's, but I guess from a roll anything is possible, and it is your sweet spot.
There is a guy on here with the 2.85 pulley that ran 12.75 look up hatrickstu maybe you've heard of him.

ok there in lies my point.

i have a bolt-on baby cam LT1 and with traction i could run that!

granted the OP has a 2.6 pulley but thats what 2-3 more PSI? thats like maybe 20 more hp. . . so he could run a what 12.5 even then get this!

here's a link to a guy with a Auto LS1 running a hot cam mid length headers and an intake running a 12.1 for christ sakes. . . i just dont see the OP running that fast sorry.

http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/street...fate-poll.html

sure he only trapped 111 but his prior runs he trapped 114, something was up with his car, even more proving the point that had it been running 100% up to par this guy coulda ran a high 11 at around 115. . .

now think of an aftermarket Intake, heads, cam, and long tube headers. . . there are guys running 11.5's at 12x's!

also the hot cam is extremely old technology, its small and is about the worst cam upgrade for an LS1 you can buy.

i guess anything can happen on the street, which is why i said video's can help show that maybe he really did win these races.

He also said that this is what he was told that the camaro had. For all we know he had just bolt ons and was full of crap. Tom isn't going to lie about winning if he didn't.

nice runs op.

i agree thats exactly my point. i wasn't discrediting him, i'm just saying he either beat the driver [ dude cant drive for beans ] or that the guys lied about their mods [ cause with those mods he would get walked, sorry op]

I think there's a vid on youtube of a member on here (not mentioning names) who raced a cammed ls1 with light boltons and the ls1 pulled 1 car or a half a car from a 40 roll. The balt in question ran a 2.5 m62 setup at the time.

Ill be getting a few vids of a cam only ls1 and me going from some rolls. Here soon

I was just as shocked as some of you to have not gotten EATEN ALIVE by the full bolt-on LSx cars, but I never got to see under the hood so I can't verify the mods. There are a ton of bullshitters in Dayton that will say they have this and that and trap this, etc.

All in all, the f-bodies I raced were impressed by our lil 4-banger
