Im driving a completely stock off the lot 2009 Cobalt SS/TC (2,xxx miles on it)


So last night i was getting low on fuel and decided to head home after a night cruise and saw some kid pulling out in traffic with a manual BMW and it looked a little quick so i dropped it down to 3rd and caught up to him and was toying with him for like 2 minutes and he started to drop back like he didn't want to play so i just moved on. I saw him a ways back there weaving in and out of traffic like a hard ass and thought maybe he wanted to play now and i saw a red light ahead and stopped to wait for him. As i was waiting he was creeping up to the light behind me at around 10-15mph and the light turned green and i launched it and here he comes flying by me from a 10-15 roll and passes me.... until i hit my 2nd gear and caught up to him and hit 3rd while i was at his back bumper and started pulling on him and by the start of 4th gear i was already 1-2 car lengths a head and it was pretty much game over by then (got to 80mph and stopped)

I raced a 2005 or 2006 BMW 330Ci and it definitely had exhaust on it but other then that i guess it was stock im not sure, i didnt get a chance to ask him cuz he was kinda pissed off i guess. Anyways, just thought i would share my first kill with you guys and i had a lot of fun doing it, had a smile on the rest of the way home.

 

Grats. He just got killed and he was on a roll when you were stopped, lol. Non-driving ****.

 

Nice kill! If memory serves me they are somewhere in the 230hp range and weigh round 3200lbs. Should be a clean walk away for the SS every time. Nice.

 

I didnt really know i just wanted to race someone that night, dont know a whole lot about BMW's but i have only owned my car for 4 days so i was really happy about the kill :P

Are you sure he was racing you?Maybe he had a pregnant lady in the car and had to go to the emergency room :P.

 

Oh ya, he was racing me im 100% positive. All i heard was his exhaust and i had my windows up and air conditioning going.

damn son u started pulling at 80 mph in 4th gear?!?!! u gotta ss/tc motor with a LS transaxle? my ss/sc on the bottom of 4th im at 100+... u can be honest on where u let off at dood. i do believe the story i just think after hitting the brake pedal for 4-5 seconds u looked down and u were at 80 lmao

Nah i was just getting into 4th gear and let off. Sorry, the story was a little misleading. I never said anything about hitting the breaks for 4-5 seconds. Basically when i let off at the beginning of 4th gear i was at around 80mph and 1-2 car lengths ahead (speed limit on that road was 55 and i had no radar detector)

Also, i wasnt hitting the shifts at 6000 rpm like i know im supposed to.

NOTICE: I have only owned this car for 3 days (my first manual sports car i have owned)

I havent been paying much attention this past week or so, what do you mean by "stage 2"?

 

I think it a stage 2 kit for the SS Superchargers, not a 100% on that one.

 

You're right, he was quoting a S/C owner. I was thinking there was a Stage 2 out for the SS/TC now, LOL.
