First Kills!

So I've been talking to some peeps at work about my fairly new car, and that I was getting my new intake and exhaust. So there are two guys and a girl that want to shut me up about my car today, now that my intake and exhaust are on. One is a 02 Celica GT red, with intake, exhaust, and carbon hood, this is the girl. The second is a 2000 civic si, that he said was stock, but wouldn't open the hood. And the third was this guy with a 04 v6 mustang from recieving that somehow got word even though I have never seen the guy.

Okay so we go down to a two lane street south of my work, that "all the gilbert people race at". whatever. So the mustang is talking a lot of trash, saying your 4 cyl is nothin compared to my six, and your car isn't that light, and I'm rwd so you'll lose. We line up, the girl tosses a ball cap and when it hits the ground we're off. I spin a little, as does he, but I still get a decent jump on him. By the the time I'm at 4000rpms in 2nd i have a car. By third I have 1 1/2 cars. Cool, but its only a v6 stang. The girl with her Celica wants some next. BTW, she has been raggin me since I got my car, on how her car is so much lighter with her hood, and I won't stand a chance. By 2nd gear I already have 1 car. Nuff said. So the guy with the civic si, who has been quiet this whole time is last. Hat hits the ground and we both hook. My best launch out of the three. I pull a little bit in first, and then he pulls back when I shift to second, then I pull through second, and he pulls when I shift to third. We are basically dead even when I get to 105mph and we're running out of road, he lets off then I do. Tie.

Cliff Notes: Beat 04 v6 stang by 1 1/2 cars. Beat a 02 celica GT, i/e, carbon hood, annihilated. Tied a 2000 civic si, he says stock I say otherwise.

2 questions:

1. I thought the Si would kill me! Aren't they fast?!?
2. When does my governor shut my 07 ls down? I let off at 105, cause I wasn't 100% sure. And what happens when the governor does stop me?

Tomorrow a guy in the tire shop in his 03 lancer, i/e wants to race. He is gonna pull his back seats and passenger seat, and said he's gonna install his NOS tonight. He has never used NOS before, and said he is gonna spray outta the hole. I can't wait!

The New Si is slow, I watched one run 15.7 consistantly at the track this past weekend. As for the Govy, I haven't hit it yet and I had my car up to 145 and let off

Stock LS/LT:107MPH (CPU controlled)
SS/NA:130MPH (CPU controlled)
SS/SC:160+(gearing limited)

Both SS/NA and LS/LT are limited because of their tires.

Well I thought that the 07 LS would be different because it has a different computer than the 05-06.

The S rated tires are tested at 112 mph why wouldn't that be the gov pt? Kinda dumb question but have to ask. So if I put some (Y) rated tires on my car can I take it in to the dealer to change out my gov with the SS/sc gov? Or would I have to get hp tuners to get rid of my gov?

Again, what happens when the gov activates. Does the car shut down, or does it cut off fuel? I ask, cause the only other car that I had over 100mph was my 1969 GTO at 127mph, and I don't even think they made governors back then.

id assume it cuts fuel like most others due... i had a nissane xterra which was governed at 95 and when u would hit 95 its just feel like you were bouncing off of a revlimiter...

so are you tuned? and those tires you have are about 1/2 inch shorter than stock, that would be why you hit 160

there is no governor for speed....................i.e. you can go as fast as the car lets you go. However, there is a limit in each gear as to how fast you can go. 1st is short, 2nd goes to 120km/h,3rd goes to 180km/h, 4th goes to about 220km/h and I dunno about 5th because I like my life. Buy the way, street racing is dangerous......take it to the track and be safe. Just my opinion.
