this is my first war story post and i kno it is a bit long,(but whose first race post isnt long lol) but the only reason im posting it is because of the whole story and the way it went down.

well im driving over my buddies houes cuz were gunna go meet up a few ppl and go see transformers (which was amazing) and as im making one of michigans famous turnarounds, there is a black talon with nice shiny chrome spoke rims at the light.

as i finish my turn i have to stop at a red light about 1/2 mile up the road. the light turns green and i look in my rear view mirrow and low and behold, the talon is coming up VERY fast on me and preparing to do what we all kno as, "The Ricer Flyby". i let him baste in his ricer glory and make his flyby, and i catch up to him at the next light.

as were rolling up to the light i give him the thumbs up and say nice car and he does the same to me. (it really was a nice car except for his fart can) i notice his whole gauge pod setup on his drivers side and ask him how much boost he is pushing, and he makes a big O with his hands and says all motor. so i laugh and ask him what the pods are for and he just shakes his head and smiles at me so i just laughed at him. at this point i knew i could beat him, and i was no longer intimidated by what i thought to be a turbo talon. so as were rolling along, we get up to about 30-35 and i hear him downshift into first (his fart can let a loud one go) i look over and see him staring at me. so i just stare right back and lightly tap the gas and he does the same.

he is the first one to hit the gas hard though and he was about 1/4 car ahead of me when i got on it, i pulled about 3/4 of a car ahead of him (he was right on my back bumper) before we let off at 70 cuz of traffic. so i consider it a solid 1 car length victory for my slightly modded 2.2 , i normally wouldnt of raced, hence this being my first war story post, but i just hated the fact that this kid was all decked out with fake boost pods and a fart can. damn ricers, making a bad name for a car like a talon.

 

So true—the Talon is a great car. If you have gauge pods, you should have gauges that matter. Either way, you had a good race—congrats.
