I think if Ford brought those cars to the states they would realy be a heavy hitter in the car industrie but all we get is the Focus and Fusion and other turds.
Mt brother in law words in the R&D section of Ford, hes worked on the GT500, the upcoming Bullit and a few other TOP SECRET cars and he said the reason that they dont bring them over to the states is because everything has to be to US standards. They prolly wouldn't pass emmisions or the saftey specs they have to follow here and Ford dosen't have the money to do these things either.
I always wondered why you dont see people import them over here. I have seen the Maranro (GTO)or whatever its called, someone had imported over here. They had it for sale at the ACD Auction this year.

It's funny how a couple of those look alot like GM's Holden styled vehicles. Such as the Holden Ute...Australia is the place to be for factory performance it seems though.

If any of you ever have some time on your hands take a look at the how the Monaro was changed to bring it here as the GTO.
All of the interior was changed to make it left hand drive, gas tank was moved, structural supports added, emissions changed, etc.....
Things like exterior lights need to be replaced with DOT approved fixtures. The gas tank in the GTO is in a safty cage right above the axle where as the Monaros was mounted under the trunk.
Also keep in mind it took almost 7 years to bring the GTO here.
The cost of changing these cars to bring them here would far outweigh the profits.
