Its bad without a tune it screws up the Maf reading and your car will pull timing. Yes it is a pointless mod on a stock turbo. Also there are a two many to count stock 02-05 rex running low 14's stock. 06-08 good drivers usually hit 13.8 to 14. No stock rex will weigh in at 3200 pounds despite manufacture claims. My second wagon only came in at 3070 without me in it on stg. 2 parts. My fastest time was 14.3 stock @ 96 and 13.4 @103 I believe its been a while and I usually hit the curves not really into straight line. But Saturday I am taking of all the the bolt ons and trading it for a new bolt if the Chevy dealer gives me a decent deal.

 

Hmm. My buddy who now owns an 05 Sti used to have an 02 WRX wagon that ran 14.2-14.3s constistently. I think a 14.1 was his best, so you fail. No mods, he likes things stock. Even his Sti is still stock.

 

But guys he is quite educated because he knows a bunch of morons who can't drive.

 

Problem with knowing how to drive these cars comes some the trans problems that come with it. He didn't have his WRX for long but his Sti suffered from a center diff. explosion. 5500+ drops at the track did a number on that part.

 

thank you ss4me. awd tranny issues would be just what keeps 90% of people from being too rough on their WRX's. probably why i've not seen such a low time out of the vehicles, none of my friends wanted to increase the chances of ruining their cars launching em above 3500.

from what i see, fastest stock wagon of that body on the 1/4 mi drag archive site shows a 14.6. since there are too many runnin low 14's stock to count, perhaps these low ball folks could actually post their times on the drag archives with timeslip/pic/video?
