G8 GT vs C6 Corvette

Couple of friends went out to see how a cam, some really mild exhaust side porting and a new tune to go along, would do for this G8 GT.

G8 GT - Full Exhaust, Intake, Cam, Mild Portwork (Exhaust Side Only)
C6 Corvette - Stock
Both cars are automatics.

Both runs were 25 Rolls, G8 before the cam and head work lost by about 4 cars.

Good runs. Wanted a G8 but needed a 6 speed but couldn't find a GXP nearby at a good price.

Makes me rethink re-running my bos now, lol. He has a G8 GT w LS6 cam and valve springs, custom tune, intake and axle back exhaust auto as well, lol

G8s have a lot of potential, with bolt ons, a cam, and camaro rear end they can run bottom 11's.

Wow the gains they get with those mods are impressive. I put 4-5 cars on a friends G8 GT that had just an intake from 40-120 when I was stock blower (2.7) on E85

Yeah, when I had 2.8 + mods in my signature I used to put a car or so on him until 130+ then he would pull back on me, when he was stock that is.

Saw the G8 at SoCo Hooters this past Saturday night, my friend wanted to run him but was too ***** to come ask. lol Maybe we'll see it again down there or in the Valley, though that area is **** for runs.

He goes out every Friday and Saturday. He doesn't really make it out to the valley to much, SoCo is your best bet.

Also there's a few that go up there, but he's the only one with black wheels if I'm not mistaken.

I'll be running a stock-ish g8 gt here pretty soon, he has exhaust work and that's it. He's been doing a lot of smack talking and I figure from a 40 in my 2.8 car I would have a slight edge. Those were some pretty good vids, g8s def have a lot of potential.
