Got killed by an STI.

Newer STI, exhaust only i think.

I was out tuning the car last night and spent about 50 minutes on the highway giving it short romps, cruising, idling everything just working out everything. Well the car was running smooth as glass and i had just merged on to the interstate (around 8:30pm) going north with not much traffic, when i merge behind the STI. I pulled up on his left dropped it in 3rd around 60mph and got next to him.

Next thing i notice he drops about 4 cars back and i assume he is taking the next exit. Well he passes the exit and i now know he just wanted a lower roll, so i depress the brake pedal and try to get up next to him. Well as im slowing down, still in 3rd, just trying to get back to him. I hear his woosh from the turbo and off he goes. He instantly pulls half car on me, since im currently going backwards haha and i just mash the pedal at like 2800rpms.

Well he doesnt go far on that jump, he made it almost a whole car length out on me and then it was bye bye STI. By the top of 3rd he had to be 6+ cars back, possibly more but i had to move left for a semi up ahead.

I know i should pick on something my own size, but hey i was dying for any action and i had already gotten denied a playful run with a C6 and a 05+ GT so i took what i could get. Its been a dry spell lately with no action ever since i blew up the old rear end.

Then i got back to slaughter 20 minutes later, car still running smooth as glass. Sit at the light for 15 seconds and the idle goes high, then drops to almost nothing. Then i had a miss on #7 the rest of the night

Turns out i have a bent valve. I know my PTV was close, didnt miss a shift or anything just possibly shouldnt be spinning it to 7k Either way i got new manley valves and am flycutting the piston today.

So basically racing the STI literally killed the car

Dont insult my rwhp lol. it would be more like 225 more rwhp. You should have seen the look on my face when he took off while i was still braking. I was like "oh no you just f*cking didnt" and mashed it.

Correct. If you feel i am trolling feel free to read all of my posts. They are constructive.

As for the name... ford is actually my middle name, and what i go by. Michael is my first name but no one has ever called me that.

As for the Camaro, it's what i drive i dunno what to say. As for the cobalt forum... there is a 09 ss/tc w/GMS1 in the driveway.

Come back to me at your 50,000 mile timing chain replacement, or your 30,000 mile clutch lifespan. Ive already stated it was most likely the PTV clearance that killed it.

Stock we all know the LS1 is solid.

haha my bad. are you making 470 rwhp on or off spray? i assumed 150 rwhp bc i figured you didnt spray. either way i know exactly what you mean haha. i love when a silly car just punches it then i blow by them even tho i am nowhere near where you are power wise.

Off spray... honestly i dont know what it makes on the 150 or 175 shot yet. Rear end exploded when i attempted it at the track. And you are correct there was no spraying in this race, i had just swapped over to speed density and was doing the tuning for that at the time.

Maybe, i dont do a lot of posting on tech. I mostly buy/sell and search stuff. It's not really a social forum for me.

I like the local boards or CZ28.com for that kind of stuff.

I always thought Lsx was refering to any LS motor, the x being a variable for any number >.<
