Joking. I love my auto 2.4l. AEM intake, B&M Shiftplus

Caught up to this guy on the I-40 Memphis bridge. Gray Mustang GT with what sounded like an exhaust. He revved at me when I came at his side and then hauled off. This was right before a construction area so I held back and waited. Ended up passing him because he got stuck behind an 18 Wheeler. A little further along, the interstate cleared up for about a half mile ahead, so I dropped down to about 55 and hung around in the slow lane for him to catch up. He did, and then we did. 55 to about 90, at which point I shut it down. We were closing in on some traffic, I'm not a real big fan of street racing, and there was really no need. He put about 5-6 car lengths on me In my defense, I was in 3rd gear, and once I hit WOT, that was pretty much it. I would've liked to have gotten down to under 40 so my car would've shifted into second, and at least I would've had two gears to run through. But the end result probably wouldn't have been that much different. I gave him a when I caught up and went on my merry way. Probably would've been a good match up for an SS/SC, but he was just out of my league with twice the pistons under the hood.

Best the poor balt could do against a pony car. I need to go beat up some honduh now.

 

Ive out ran them before and i think im equivalent to a stage 2 ss/sc so not a bad death at all.

yea no biggy. i havent found a gt yet that can hang with me in my s/c. but then again im a little beyond stage 2 lol. cobras now thats a different story lol. yea through that hahn turbo kit in and ill bet you would hang with most stages 2 cobalts. who knows maybe even faster from a dig since you'll have less traction issues i hope

havent been to the track yet, hoping to get down into the low 13s next spring with traction mods. i also have a nitrous kit im gonna put back on for the spring. right now i just didnt want it on with a 2.7 pully. wasnt sure if the pistons could handle it. whats ur 1/4 mile time?

 

Yeah it was pretty ok. He didn't completely shut me out (my headlights were still in his rearview, though not by much). I wasn't even paying attention to go up against him until he threw down first.
