GTI on the highway...

funny story. i was headed home from work on the higway(toll road) at about 10:00pm and i see this black GTI(not the new ones) in front of me. i catch up to him and pace him at about 80mph. it was a young guy and he looked over at me but acted like he didnt wanna go. so i shifted to 3rd and took off just to mess with him. i get about 5 cars ahead of him, let off and continue on at 80mph. all of the sudden in my mirror i see him flying up on me. im thinking he will pace me and we will race, but no... HE FLIES BY ME! i was like, "huh?" so by the time i shift to 3rd again he has about 5 cars on me and still has it to the floor. funny thing is, i of course start reeling him in and by the time i have to shift to 5th im already 2-3 cars ahead of him. pretty sure he was stock, i didnt hear any exhaust or intake. and yes i had the windows down, haha! anyway it was fun to spoil his fly by.

oh yeah, after we let off, i noticed 2 cops up ahead on the highway. i slowed down to the speed limit, but the GTI didnt notice them driving. he flew by them and they did absolutely nothing... lucky bastard!

haha yeah well it was good to see you spoil his fly by, though this past weekend after stomping a NA 240 on interstate at 135mph a Trans Am flew by me doing AT LEAST 155-160mph

Yeah those GTIs and GLI's have always seemed like slugs, until they put that APR chip in them, those things react amazing to chips, its rediculous.

Yeah it's because those motors are so de-tuned from the factory it's rediculous.
Same with the Audis!

Oh for sure. Those chips are amazing, I know from experience. Once when riding with a friends in a nuddie's SRT-4, he was being the cocky stereotype that you usually find in the SRT-4, and was "blowinf off" at this ghetto kit in the last gen GTI. Al of a sudden he makes this dumb face, and nails the gas and seriously strechted us sooooo bad. We did have4 people in the car and a system, but nevertheless, I accused him of having an aftermarket turbo. You could hear the turbo over the damn exhaust when we were behind the car. Sorry for the rant, lol. Continue.
