G8 GT (to what I heard anywho)
Trailblazer SS
Corvette
Up & Coming Camaro
Cailliac CTS-V
Yep, GM has to put one in every segment. Just like Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep has to put a Hemi in everything.
If you want I can start getting into the european car segment where there is just as many cars I do believe. either way your thinking about this is incorrect.

Funny...I can count in the last three years on "two" hands the cars that have or will have that motor.
7 fingers, 2 hands. Clearly your math is incorrect.

Oh yea, nothing like speculating on cars that aren't even here yet.....rumors as I'd like to call them because evry other day there's a new motor in the "up and coming" camaro...two weeks ago it WAS the LS2, now it's the LS3, who know's...next week it'll be the LS7 or by the time it comes out, LS48465476.
But remember, you embarassed me because you're right when you say the GTO has the same build quality as a cobalt
I pray you never reproduce
wow, thought that was pretty much common knowledge......

In case you're too lazy:
On February 21, 2006, General Motors reportedly told dealers that it would halt imports of the GTO in September, making 2006 the last model year for the current GTO generation. This should have come as no surprise since this generation GTO was only intended to be produced for those 3 years from the beginning of the program.
Gee you love editing don't you........guess you found the "Correct" information you were looking for

The why do you keep posting thinking you really know what you're talking about when all you're really doing is posting things you THINK you know and of course I knew you'd post the same Wiki bullsh*t...."Oh Noez Like 4 Realz, Wiki is Like the Uber Falsest"

Now you get it........I was directly quoting things you said with a smiley at the end.....you make things so easy for me champ

Honestly, I don't care if I am right or wrong but you people don't seem to understand how much it bothers you. this is the internet. if you can't take jokes, sarcasim or misinformation then why get butt hurt about it? I knew of all people a woman would be the most offended but then again I am not suprised a 19 or 20 year old (whatever age you think you are these days) honestly would reply.
Calling out my age is also pointless, I've achieved more than most 50 year olds, so try again if you're trying to throw a low ball. And pointing out the fact that I'm a woman, yea, most "men" (I put that in quotations because it's a matter of opinion) do that as well when they have nothing else to say ...once again, good try champ
/ conversation, my IQ is dropping by typing back and forth to you
I just traded my Cobalt SS in for a 2wd version. Its nice but it doesn't
have the top end pull like my Cobalt.

Those vehicles were behind when that plan was shelved last March 2006. It has subsequently been reborn (the new Camaro is part of that plan, but the vehicles we are getting are no longer exact copies of the VE chassis). Holden discontinued the Monaro at the end of 2005 since its LS1 motor no longer met Australia's emissions standards for 2006. Holden continued to build LS2-based vehicles for Holden Special Vehicles and Pontiac.
The GTO was NOT discontinued because of slow sales; it was discontinued because its three-year contract was up. Holden and GMNA actually were looking into continuing GTO production for 2007 and 2008, but the GTO did not meet the new 2007 smart airbag standards, and it would have been a significant cost (plus many crash tests) to re-engineer the vehicle to do so. In light of the end of the V-chassis and the expense, they elected to let the 3 year contract run out.
It was discontinued because GM Holden in Australia, which made the GTO for GM North America, was in the process of discontinuing their current V-body vehicles for their new VE chassis. The original contract between GMNA and GMH was for 3 years of GTO production, after which time GMNA would start building Holden VE-based vehicles here in North America.

Thanks for a much clearer definition of what's going on.

They still have three of them on my side of town at one dealership. 2 auto 6.0's and 1 stick.
Yeah but it's awsome that you don't see one everywhere you go you know? I like that...almost like an exotic. I only see them every day though because there's like 3 in my town but other than that, I NEVER see them on the road.
I plan on being a future ls1 gto owner
