If he has any work done at all... you'll get walked HARD! SR20's are very stout, and can take lots of abuse!

Look under his hood... before you drop 100 bucks!

So yea, if it's a well put together swap with a few choice mods you're going to get ****** anniahlated. But chances are it's some ricer moron who has no idea whats going on and you might win.
Good to know, I don't see too many SR20's (or 240SX's period, for that matter) in CO, but I'll make sure to pop the hood before I run one.

Hack, I hope that guy is as retarded as you make him sound. Otherwise you just might lose.

If I was into Nissans, I'd take one of the Tomei crate motors. But that's not exactly a production SR. What's a notch top? I've never heard any of the Nissan guys mention it.

NM, I looked it up. People around here just distinguish between red and black, and then go on to tell you that they have an S14 or 15. Much like a Honda owner will point out his Type R sticker.

Damn, it still is yo. If you can think of a way to wrench on a car while being a country and several time zones away let me know. Until then, just continue to stand to my left and wait your turn.

i agree. if this kid has no form of mental retardation than you are more than likely gonna lose.
ive driven a stock sr20 240 on 7lbs and on 14lbs. the only colbalt that should put up a fight is the ss/sc.

so if you dont want to lose too bad race him from a dig and hope he screws up his launch. or race him from a roll and most likely get destroyed.

and we definitely need a video for this, since all this bench racing is happening. then we can see if hacks car is really that fast and/or if this kid has down syndrome...

Its more like a civic owner saying they have an EK, EP.. blah blah blah... because S13, S14, and S15 (never sold in North America) are the chassis codes for 240sx. The higher the number after the S, the heavier they get. So a S13 with 250rwhp is going to be quicker then an S14 with 250rwhp.

As it turns out where I'm at Nissan is the equivalent of the Honda Civic and Mustang GT combined so I'm well aware of the naming convention and that NA never got the dorifto specials. You can't swing a dead cat without hitting an S-13 over here. So in my book, yeah, it is just like an Integra Type R owner pointing to his stickers. I just hadn't heard to the term notch top before as I generally don't pay any attention to the Nissans.

Are you sure all the 180's got Ca18det's? Are you talking about the kouki's or zenki's? I don't know if it's just because damn near everyone swaps an SR or what but I've only seen one 180 with a CA18DET, and my friend who wipes his ass with Nissan toilet paper was astonished there was one still around. I'll have to look into that, unless one of you resident Nissan experts can set me straight, I think they stopped using the ca18det after a certain year.

That I couldn't tell you. I'm not sure what the specs on the RB20DET are, only one way to find out: race him.

ok yall...

the s14 and 15 engines *** wit a t-28 turbo as opposed to a t-25 on the s13 sr20s..... the late s14 - 15 sr20s came wit a version of VTEC....

the rb20 was a skyline engine... it is decnelt ypowrful and will more than likely keep up or beat a ss sc....

and yes the 180sx came wit a ca18.....

and notch back is a body style.. that or fastback...

To answer your question ALL S13's until late 1990 had CA18DET's in them, 1991 and on all had SR20's. The hatchback retained the 180sx name even though it was now actually 2.0L, and the coupe retained the Silvia name. How do I know this? If your friend is looking for CA powered S13's there are 1000's of them running around Canada thanks to our import laws. Everyone and their dog has a "JDM Drifter".

The RB20DET in a 240 will be quick but not as quick as a SR20. They only had 175ps from the factory, and are a heavy inline 6 that was used in the non GTR R32 skylines (GTS-T, GTS-4). To answer your question about will a SS/SC beat a 240 with an RB20, that I don't know. But a SS/SC will beat a R32 Skyline with a RB20.
