So for the past couple times that I ahve raced...(no flaming... I rarely do it....) Ive lost... because I havent downshifted into I or L (I have an auto...) so tonight I was at sonic and this guy who drives a GTO who im good friends with was like hey do you want to race... after saying no many times I finally said yes and it was against a Ford Focus...so we go and we are on an abandoned road... we line up he honks three times and we go.(from a dig....) he honks we take off... we were right together off the line.. but I pulled on him HARD.... anyways... at the end of the first run i beat him by like a bus or two... no kidding... (turns out he missed 2nd...) So we line up again from a dig... he honks... and this time i launched PERFECTLY>..... this time I pulled on him HARD but ended up beating him by 2-3 cars... it was good... but when i lauched i launched from 2.5k by brake tourquing it and it was amazing...but anyways... finally i won... it makes me feel good even though street racing is bad... this spring ill go out because ill be 18 and ill go to the track to race.. but i wanted to share my story with yall... So please this is NOT a thread about how bad street racing is.. its just a story about my night.. so thanks!

At the track near me, I don't think there is an age limit at all.

I went all the time when I was 17

 

here in STL at gateway international raceway.. you ahve to be 18 or you can be younger with a parents sig... so i mean i decided to wait until my parents dont have to worry about it... ill be 18 on the 31st!!! HECK YES!!

oh and you can call it a kill..... i dont care... i dont really condon street racing but i mean it happens lol

I dont like to tell this story much but since you are all my Cobalt brothers I will tell it...just keep in on the down low ok In my Monte Carlo I once missed high gear with a auto sending my 400sb spinning way past what the valvetrain was designed to do. I bent a valve but I got lucky cause it survived . When i went to shift it into high it skiped right into neutral with my foot to the floor. So now my buddies always give me hell before I race

they said he was stock... i dont know if i believe it... he wouldnt have kept up with me i think if he was stock.. all they said was that they did wieght reduction before the race.... what do yu guys think???

Good job though man. I know the feeling. I can't get a riced out Honda, Hyundai, Mistubishi, anything to come near me, but I'm literally drowning in Mustang GT's, 350Zs, and GTO's.
My racing typically involves me racing my own lap time to the store and back.
