well from your sig it seems like you are a VERY good driver from your kills. the s2000, the 06 gt, and the srt-4 are just plain faster cars with equal drivers stock for stock, so you must be at least better than decent, so i can beleive it. from a dig it would be a totally different story with an srt-8 tho and really, stock for stock, (not sure about the other srt-8's) the srt-8 charger will still own a cobalt. those things can run 12's stock. they are pigs, but they have the power to make up for it, but who wants to drive an automatic?

I don't think the GC SRT-8 redlines as high, which is what I should have said.

dude, im not going to say that, that didnt happen but think about what ur saying. These cars run 12's stock....what do u run?. They are at an advantage from and dig and at a disadvantage from a roll but it comes down to hp:weight ratio.

SRT8 - 11.2
SS - 12.8
SRT4 - 12.4

4/10ths of a difference and the srt4 stock for stock will have the advantage an can usually pull a car or 2. Granted the srt8 is auto but the mercedes tranny is solid and shifts pretty hard, even harder in the srt8 version.

Yeah, props to the stock kid beating the SRT-8. Me and the guy started from a roll, and we were dead dam even. BUT, we only raced to maybe 100ish. If you're doing that stock, props to your car. I don't see how there is any skill in a non shift roll race....

Yeah the GC SRT-8 is no joke...I've personally seen a silver one at HRP w/ spec sheets still on the windows run a 13 flat in 90+ degree heat...

Oh well can't blame people for NOT street racing but you CAN blame them not to when they have an srt-8... Does that make sense? Whatever..
So there would be no point in getting Evo, STi, SRT-4 or any other remodeled, suped up car since what would be the point of having all that power. Hell might as well drive a Lancer, WRX, Neon, and for that matter a Cobalt LS.

The only thing different from the cars listed above and the SRT-8 are that they are scaled down. Smaller, lighter bodies with smaller powerful engines compared to the SRT-8 charger.

Hell the Charger SRT-8 weighs 4160 lbs with 425hp/420TQ It is going to need that extra HP/TQ to move its fat a$$

The Cobalt SS/SC only weighs 2991 lbs. I don't know what HP/TQ number the Intense kit gives you (I need to do more reading but haven't had the time yet) but regardless if you kept up good run. I am definately not hating on the Cobalt. I respect it alot. I loved reading the thread about the 270hp for $500. I got two friends that got the SS/SCs and I love the look of them and that supercharger whine.

I've been wanting to race one ever since I've had my Intense Stage 3 put on. And I've been continually teased because I normally always see one going to work, but never get a chance to get next to him.

Not this morning. Side by side we were rolling around 50 or so and we sat side by side, no one pulling whatsoever. Only raced up to 100 or so but I never got a formal race out of the guy. Regardless, I hung absolutely side by side with the guy. It was beautiful.

So everyone knows, all SRT-8's are auto w/tiptronic controls that shift for you either way at redline. Who knows where he was in his gear, but...

I hung right next to him. He rolls his window down. It's the typical midlife crisis 40 year old. "What is that?" (My car is debadged, I know he knew what kind of car it was, he just wanted me to say it.) "It's a COBALT". The guy puts both his hands in the air and says, "It's fast". I complement him on his car and we drive our seperate ways.

I really do love the SRT-8 chargers. In fact, it's brother, the SRT-8 Grand Cherokee with the same 6.1L HEMI is one of my dream cars.

Anyway, I'm pleased.
LOL.... I guess I am not your typical Mid-Life crisis 40 year olds. I am smart one.... I bought a cobalt and saved my money! (save money by not getting a Charger SRT-8)

yup - Hemi's 6.1

I love them all
I really like the charger -

the Challenger is rumored to have a special edition srt-8 model with a 6.6 hemi - But its all hear-say for now

The charger SRT-8's arent very good from a roll . . .
had you guys raced from a stop . . . Im not so sure you would have won . . .
C&D was able to get it up to 60 in 4.8 - thats a nice number considering the weight and the automatic transmission . . . .

I would trade my srt-4 for an srt-8 in a heartbeat : )

I think dodge is really putting some nice performance into alot of their cars .
the hemi is an awesome engine

I dont think if your 40 and you own an SRT-8 that doesnt mean your having a mid life crisis . . . nothing wrong with want speed with some luxury thrown into the mix - keep in mind some of these guys may have owned an old school charger back in the day . . .

Yeah, to clarify I was just trying to have you guys picture what the guy looked like. And throwing out the "mid-life crisis 40 year old" everyone should have gotten a very close picture of what the guy looked like. I was just trying to use the stereotype

I myself will be driving performance cars until I'm too old to drive. And yes, down the road, I will be considered one of these people.

As for the Dodge, every since Mercedes joined Diamler back in (I think) 98, the dodge line up has taken a complete turn around. The challenger looks like a mean sonbitch, and if I hadn't seen the pictures of the new camaro, i would be on a waitlist for a Challenger. I hadn't heard anthing about the 6.6, but I do know the challenger comes with the 6.1L and a true 6-Speed. And that's exciting. It's going to be an awesome machine.\

I wish I would have had a chance to race the guy from a dig. I would have loved to see him only put (at most) a car on me, see his face then. HAhahahahaha.

I freakin love my car. When I get older I'll graduate to a true newage muscle car. But for now, (I'm 20) I'll rock the 4 banger, and deal with the weed-whacker sound. (Can't wait for 3"......)

Well I could be wrong but the SRT-8's are like a 13.5 to 13.2 second car. I witnessed a Charger srt-8 do 13.7 to 13.4 this summer.

Because the DA was -1400 or so when he ran that pass... and when he ran with the DA closer to 0 he ran a 12.8.

Also SEVERAL people confirmed his car before and after those passes, even very angry GTO owners that doubted him.
