Kill Story: Mitsu Lancer

This is taken from the alero forum, a guys account of what he saw when he got off of work in Philadelphia:

This is all I could find on it right now, but I was there

I go outside on break and see the entire street that runs along the plant closed off by the cops. As I walk thru the lot toward the street, I see the Channle 3 van in our lot and the "Medical Examamtor Office" van pull up.

They have this house all blocked off, and I'm thinking that some guy killed his family or something, then I see the car, a Mitsu Lancer, upside down in the front yard of this house, and a sheet next to the front of the car.

The lady was walking dow nthe street as 2 cars were racing up Comly Road towards Rooselvelt BLVD when one lost control, hit this lady, bottomed out in the grass, with the lady under the car. The car jumps up and flips over landing in a tree. The lady was CUT IN HALF

Read the small story but this is what I heard. There was a guy driving with 2 girls, possiblly another guy too. The driver was still in the car when I saw it, about 1.5 hours after the accident, he was dead already. The 2 girls were taken out of the car and to the hospital. One was DOA, the other, I hear survived, and also hear died about 130 this morning.

I think I saw the top part of the lady when the cops were adjusting the sheet. I saw what looked like a hand and a head of hair. No blood, except what was on the sheet. When the car flipped the lady hit the tree first. Her leg was found at point of impact, 20 feet from where the car landed. THE TREE WAS ALSO CUT IN HALF

Knowing the area, if they started at the traffic light he had about 1/2 mile or close to 3/4 mile to get up speed. Hitting a small bump that at a high rate of speed could put a car airbone or cause it to lose control, and also knowing a base model Lancer can get upto low 80 MPH's in the 1/4 mile, I'd guess he was upto about 120 or so in this 35 MPH zone. The road has a small "S" curve before getting to this point. He probably skided about 300 yards beofre hitting the lady walking on the sidewalk.

I feel as though I have a high gore tollorance, but seeing this up close, I felt the acid trying to come up. I feel really bad for the families involved.

As for the house, LUCKY LUCKY LUCKY. The car when between a pole and stop sign, missed both cars in the driveway, and the tree stopped it from hitting the house. It did destory the fence, and a slight damage to the carport of the house next door, with no car in it. If the Lance hit the house, or hit one of the cars, which would have cause 2 or 3 cars to go into the house, it could have been much much much worse.

I'll try to post a better link later, this will probably be on the 12 and 5 o clock news

I talked with one of the moderators and I'll be posting these stories when I stumble across these articles as my way of saying "Don't race up to 100 when the speedlimit is 30 and you are on your town's main drag"

I think this is a little more effective than bashing/namecalling.

And as sad as stories like these are, it's a sobering reminder, even to myself, of the risks we take when racing on public roads. Even if it's late and "no one is around"...that doesn't ensure the safety of yourself, your passengers or other, innocent, people who may be about.

Thumbs down Always a tragedy

Street racing is Dumb, probably runs a close second to Drunk driving in the number of fatalities.

thats why i think that program "beat the blue" or whatever needs to be advertised more. you take your car to a drag strip and drag race cops to your hearts delight. no tickets, no hassle.

was that lancer the only car involved? or were there other cars involved in the investigation? He was either showing off to his friends his 'leet' lancer, or trying to prove something to someone he doesnt know.

truly a sad day when an innocent lady or anyone dies in the neglegance(sp?) of kids thinking they are hot ish.

There were two cars racing at the time of the accident. Very sad stuff.

that is truely crazy.

people need to get a clue; If you have to race, don't do it with passengers aboard, DON"T do it in the middle of a residential area, and know the limits of yourself and the car - if that driver had half a clue, he'd know the car couldn't make that turn, and that woman would be alive.

F*** the driver, he gets the darwin award.

I'm not going to preach that racing should only take place on a closed track, if I did I'd be a hypocrite. However, I do have the sense to know not to do it in town, I don't go apeshit pushing the limits of physics, and I NEVER endanger others by having them in the car.

The place I go is completely deserted, in the middle of nowhere and nearly void of traffic; we only go at night, and if any vehicles are coming within a 2 mile radius, the race is haulted. I'll post a pic later of this place.

I'm not saying what I do is right either, but if you must race off the track, use half a f***ing grain of sense and move it away from people! If you were going to make homemade fireworks, you wouldn't throw it into a crowd of people would you?

I swear to God, common sense isn't very common anymore.

That is such a sad story. The guy who saw it I don't has really fully gotten over it yet. He was pretty shaken up after seeing that lady.

Most roads and highways that have posted speed limits are made to go 20 over and still be ok but sounds as though you'd have to be going alot faster to cause this damage.

And the kids..................what a waste. If the driver didn't die I'm sure somebody would have killed him anyway.

Take the race to the track kids!!!! There's a safe way and then there's this way!!!!

If somebody pulls up and wants to race me I say,"on my time, not on yours"

Be safe. Peace out.

damn what a sad story, i also feel bad for families involved, its idiots like that, that make it hard to let children play on the streets. there are a few idiots in lifted trucks that drive stupidly down my street and i feel like getting a 12 gauge shotgun and shooting it at their cars lol, as if it makes it any safer. good story none the less. in my opinion i think the driver of the car should have survived so he could suffer and rot in jail. he got lucky.

Yeah I would say its the next dumbest thing next to driving drunk. It will alwyas happen though you just have to hope it is somehwere where nobody is...

The state troopers amde a big street racing bsut ehre recently and took it very serious.

Also the other night I was pulling out of a road and I saw headlight flying so I didnt pull out.... glad I didnt it was a cop chasing a kid they went up the road about a 1/4 mile went over this "hump" and I saw the kid flip his car. Come to find out the cop tried to stop him in his driveway before he drove becuase he was drunk, then he ran.

just thought that puts into perspective how usually when things go wrong racing or driving drunk you get the same result.
