You should try heading out to some of the local meets. People are always looking for runs. You may have better luck at Fuds on Friday night, or at the parking garage meet on Thursday nights.

hes just going to say "ya well an automatic can shift faster than any person ever could" which is a true statement. yet it doesnt make it any less gay. sorry but if im going for the fastest time at a drag race, yes automatic would work, but its no fun. all cars should be a stick so the driver mod is involved. in this case tho, a auto z28 is slower than the m/t one. his cars slow, i dont consider nawz a real mod, as it just means you cant afford a blower or turbo set up.

didn't really read through all the post but when I was last up towards that way when I went to English town raceway with a buddy afterwords we went out with the car and everyone was scared cuz it have a hood and tires and two baby bottles between the seats to much talk up there also

 

if you know how to drive an fbody with your mods then a m/t is faster than an auto. if your a ***** who cant drive, then have fun with your auto. cant believe your confident someone is going to mis shift when they race you. and if you start losing, which you will depending on who runs you, your just gunna use that nawzzzz. youd make paul walker proud, except for the fact that u drive an auto camaro.

i didnt say anything about cobalts. lol. also, a 6m/t with the same mods as you will beat you in a race. if you dont think so then there is no hope for you. my buddy's i/e ws6 t/a runs 13.2 consistently on a automatic. pretty good, but a 6mt would do better.

i do know with more power the auto will be faster in the long run, but auto is still kinda gay. just shows you cant really drive a stick like a real man should.

(i know the original post was about racing a gto, but the topic seems to have swayed slightly). are all the street cars up your way really that slow? if so you are gonna have to drive a little further out of your comfort zone to get a race. if you come to north central ohio (that's a long ways) we have plenty of 10 sec.
STREET LEGAL cars here. there is a couple of guys that race at summit motorsports park
in norwalk ohio that DRIVE their cars to the track (street legal) and run 9.80's
no bullshit. ask cmiller. -skip.

if i was closer i would run your buddy's gto. even mildly modded. i saw a guy who had intake/exhaust on a 5.7 gto (automatic) and his best pass was 13.2 (at my local track)
i actually saw his runs. he was hooking up pretty good. i wanna say he was trapping around 103. he was running DR's. i would take a chance on racing that.

 

Where is this gto from? And what color, I'm trying to figure out if I know of him. There aren't a ton of stock ones left, but my cousins friend recently picked up an orange one, ever since he has been trying to run my cousins lightning.
