Lost to a miata....

Yes you read that right. I have been on a winning streak for a while now. Havent really lost to anything Ive had the chance to race. Well today on my way to the post office to ship my Interceptor back to Todd I Saw a Miata come up on me. He pulled up next to me and said 1 2 3 GO. I went and Held up pretty good till I shifted into 3rd he pulled and then evened out a bit but he was still slightly pulling then 4th and at that point he was like 5+ cars ahead of me. I was like damn....

Well we pull up to the light and he was like "you surprised me, but this is a V8" I was like damn.... I could see the big mustang hood on it so it was pretty obvious at that point it was highly modded. It sounded like a damn mustang. Needless to say I lost

Interesting that a V8 even fits in that damn thing.

There was some serious dough spent on that Miata. I hate those cars V-8 or not.

They call em Monster Miatas, usually have a 5.0 ford or an LS1 in em.

Yep, usually a 5.0 wedged into the bay. I have seen a couple of them. One at a dyno shop I was at layed down 303HP to the wheels.

Witt, you beat me to it... I was going to say that there was a company that built those.

Crazy crazy car....

At the Autocross yesterday there was a couple sick Supercharged Miatas, and they were quick... I can't imagine driving a V8 one...

miatas are pretty decent cars. high reving, very light, rwd cars. Too bad they're so small they got classified as a chick car

The newer ones look really nice IMO... though id still take a sky over it

I know a guy with an LS1 in his Miata. It has a couple bolt-ons and he runs consistent mid 11's @ 120+. Pretty cool if you ask me.

Reminds me of a car I see at Firebird once in a while... an FC RX-7 with modified LS1 engine in it. He was running 11s or 12s I believe. The license plate said "Chevzda".

IM not gonna baby it, he whooped my ass. I took a head start, and he still put 5 - 6 cars on me. I give him mad props, had it not been for the hood and engine roar I would have sworn it was a reg miata, Ultimate sleeper right there!

My friend just bought a FD/LS1 hybrid. Actually, he may have bought it from Cali, I'm not sure.

Anyway, here's a vid he just sent me for those interested...

yea...i know 100% for sure that ford makes conversion kits to drop a 302 V8 into both the miata and focus..never seen one tho but if i was in the driver or passenger seat i know id have a smile on my face the whole time. ...i dont know if you guys ever seen this in a magazine before but there is a rear mount turbo kit, i think....for tacomas and maybe even the 4runner...but that would be awesome if they made the rear mount turbo for the miata V8 open your hood looks n/a to the naked eye...but all turbo baby...whhaaaa... PSST!!!!

damn, a V8 in a Miata. It'd be fast as ***** in a straight line, but I can;t imagine that it'd do much for the handling. It must be extremely nose-heavy.

If you use an LS1 powered engine, it is not that bad at all. It might even weight less. Aluminum block and heads way very little as opposed to the iron blocks.

Off topic, but I am curious as to how your speed is going to increase by 5 mph with better tires???
