me vs. 06 evo mr
ok well i had to race my buddy last night since it was his last night stock... i have gmpp stg I, 2.8 (i know its too small but, w/e i am waiting on my new 2.9), and intake... we went from a 40 roll twice and both times went like this...
he pulled on me 3/4 of a car right away... i was slowly gaining on him in second when he shifed and i caught up to about his hood... then i shifed and dropped to about is passenger door and stayed there all the way till just over a hundred...
i just had to see what my car would do against him...

that seems a little weird to me.
you have instant boost, he has a turbo....his AWD doesnt give him an advantage at a 40 roll.....you should have been the one putting cars on him at the start....
did you get tree'd or something?

oh believe me! Passenger makes a BIG diff in these cars. Before when My friend had unturboed acura. We used to be dead even from 40 to 100. Put a 150 lbs passenger on either car and we would put about 3 cars on each other at this same distance.

hmmm passenger will definately effect the outcome of the race...try racing a ss/sc stock vs stock and 1 person has a passenger. its quite noticable.
maybe he was just good at brake boosting on the fly.....did you hear his turbo spooling at all before the last honk?

was it an evo 8 or 9? that would clear things up a bit. And yes if it was an 8 you should have walked on him with or without a passenger. If what you raced was a 9 the story sounds about right. Just cause its AWD doesn't mean it automatically can't do rolls. Also just cause you have a super charger doesnt mean you get to hop out 5 cars automatically. His short 6 speed gearing will get him moving pretty quick also.

I was traping 101 consistanly back then which made no sense to me. And his ass was stock. Evos are some funny ass cars. you would almost think they werent AWD sometimes. And 9's basically have a cam and a 20G stock im honestly not surprised when i hear these "evo beat me from a roll" stories these days.
