Me Vs 82 Sierra??
Ok heres the dealio.
My friend has a 1982 Sierra Classic truck, the street truck if you will, 2wd and all that.
Heres his mods as he says:
performance heads 4 bolt main and dish pistons edelbrock intake 4 barrel carb and a mallory electronic ignition and performance 2.5 in dual exhaust, cold air intake and headers.
His trucks been through alot, so its not like these mods are brand new and pushing out all the HP they can, so to speak.
And all I have is a stock 07 Cobalt SS 2.4, like brand new, 3K on it, automatic.
So im just wonderin, based on that. Who do you think would win?

My friend has a 1984 Silverado with a built 454 that runs low 13's with minimal traction.
A decent 350 in a reg cab will most likely walk you in the 1/4. A pos will most likely get stomped by you.

Chevy trucks are slow. A guy at my work is a ******* redneck with skinnys on the front and huge mickys on the rear. He is always talking ****. So I raced him and destroyed him. Then he decides to race me in his monte carlo 02 with a 3800. Smoked the **** out of it. So then he tells me he is going to get out his big gun. Shows up in a pos elcamino with a 283 in it. What a ******* joke. I love kicking the **** out of 40 year old guys with v8s

Wow.
This site is awesome.
How many millions of miles does said truck have?
In the 1/4 you will prolly lose...but I know a SS/SC is faster than a 96 5.7.
Old guys like ^ up there think that because 0-40 come quick because of a short 1st and a ton of torque, that their truck is teh fast0rx. They are the same types of guys that drive their 16 door freight train looking thing with 4 inch exhaust around town as fast as they can...
To the OP you will probably lose, just race and tell us what happens.

haha yeah right!
The Tundra is the fastest 1/4 mile truck on the market right now and it does a 14.9 and an sssc is supposed to do the same.
So if you think your 96 POS does a 13.36 you are crazy
Hell the 96 vette wasn't even that fast.

Obviously yours is not stock.
It is also not a C/K 1500, which is what this thread is about...so before you start pulling the youngin' card on me, go outside gramps and read the side of your truck, it has to be at least a C/K2500 to have a 350 in it...
...case and point...yes a short bed LT1 truck is faster than a LSJ...we are talking about the 1500 not the 2500...and the difference is like close to a 100 HP for those of you wondering.
And if you do have a 1500 with a 350 in it, you better call your insurance company cuz about three of them have no clue your truck doesn't exist.
And why would I come out to awesome Indiana? I have been there to many times to begin with and 18 hours of driving to see someone with a pick up truck doesn't seem my thing...
...and I can feel all of you now BLAH BLAH BLAH he doesn't even HAVE a SS/SC, this guy up here...drives a LS sedan...
Wait, a 13.36 from a stock 96 5.7L?
Didn't you know?

Believe what you want. I know my truck, and I know how to drive. For all you doubters out there..... DO YOU KNOW EVERYTHING? I have been driving longer than most (if not all of you) have been alive.
...A side note, I just love how some of you "experts" seem to know everything about everything. GET A LIFE!

Tofu...... no disrespect to you, but you own a "new" Silverado do you not? I am talking about a 1996 model. The only "mod" to my truck is a K&N drop-in filter, and the removal of the air box cover. (I don't consider that a mod). I have never had the engine apart, it recieves regular maintance. I personally don't care what you or any other person on here thinks. I know what my truck is capable of! Ask around guys..... these trucks had some guts to them.
I can totally see that time in the 1/8th.
