Me vs. GTI
Ok, so I'm cruisin home from work tonight down a basically abandoned freeway and I see headlights comin up on me in the left lane. See that their HID's so I ignore my mirrors so as not to be blinded lol. Well, about 30 seconds after noticing this car behind me, they're right next to me and passing me. I look over, it's a GTI. Not to my surprise at all, he gets next to me, drops down a gear and takes off. I had my cruise set at 65 and I was just putzin along and wasn't going to take this bait....but he started slowing down and I knew what he was gonna do next. So, as we get next to each other I hear him downshift and get on it so I drop from 5th to 3rd and punch it to about 90 when I let off. He catches back up cuz I'm guessing he was only in 4th. Once I realized how huge of a jump and the lengths I was putting on him I backed off.
So, we're side by side now and I roll down my window and say "on three?". He agrees and at this point we're both in second at 30. I honk it off, he jumps just before the 3rd honk and I follow suit. He got out about 2 cars ahead from jumpin early but I reeled him back in and by 120 I had put 4 cars on him. Once wasn't enough so we do this 2 more times and each time, same result. At the end of run 3 we slow to about 20ish and start bs'in about who's got what done. Like I said before, the freeway was EMPTY, there wasn't anyone behind or in front of us on either side. Convo is as follows:
Him: What do you have done to that?
Me: Not much, it's stock pulley with full header back exhaust and a tune. You?
Him: Fully tuned to ??psi and full exhaust. ( I couldn't quite hear him over both our exhausts) You can't be stock, there's no way.
Me: I promise man, just a tune and full exhaust
Him: a;lkdfja;lkdfja;dlskfj(he was blabbering about an ecu going bad and having to get a new one, like I care lol)
Me: Well, c-ya man
Him: Yep, c-ya.
He then floors it and I do the same just to be a smartass and put 2 cars on him and go from 3rd to 5th at 80 and just cruise.
All in all, it was quite fun and I wasn't going to do it, but the freeway was empty so I figured why not? Definately didn't expect that sort of result tho...WickedTune FTW!

I wanna know if this was a good win or if the gti's are really that slow lol
