Golf GTI vs. SS/SC
Ok there is a guy where i live, who has a Golf GTI. Im guessing like an 04 maybe. Anyways, i have been wanting to race him. He dyno'd 188whp 211wtq. I dyno'd 230whp and 200wtq. Do you think i can take him. I think the GTI's are lighter?? Not sure though. Arent they AWD? If so, i know i will get beat from a dig. What about from a 40 kick?

they weigh alot! they can be made into powerhouses But that isnt that impressive compared to the GTi's round her! 300 hp 360 tq like 8 of them lol all look stock

you should be able to get him. the gti is fwd the r32 golf is awd. even tho he's got you beat on torque, you more than make up for it with HP. so i say you should win! hopefully you can drive well.

agreed on the waste of a V6 put when they are putting out close to the same power why wouldnt they be in the same category, or are you just talking diff between a 4 and a 6?

i raced one that did a ricer fly by on me ... we were at a light and he was behind me when it turned ... I went out slow so he could get next to me but he had other ideas and I had to play catch up ... by the end of 3rd I had already caught up and when I went into 4th I started walking away.

i raced one from a 40 when i was stock and it was an instant pull (automatic).
I dont know about a stick, i think he would put up a little battle, but by the edn of your second gear, you should be ahead
a modded one on 20lbs and all bolt on's had me by about 1 car by the end of my 3rd gear, which i think is kind of pothetic that they put all that into it and can just barely pull on a stock cobalt ss
