So I was on my way to the grocery store when a Lexus did a fly by and got over in my lane and stoped at the light so I switched lanes and pulled up next to him. Guy had to be in his 40's or late 30's. The light turns green and he stays with me in first I switch to 2nd and I start gaining on him I pass him when I switch to 3rd and keep going I ended up about 3 cars ahead of him when I car pulled out and wee had to slow down I switched to his lane and into the turning lane so I could go to the store I turned down my radio and rollled my window down to give him the thumbs up and I guess he got all butt hurt cause he didn't give me the time of day and turned the other direction peeling out while he turned.

if it wasn't the six speed verson it wasn't ver fast but you would probably beat the six speed verson by that much if he was a crappy driver. Good kill, i've been looking for one of those to stomp.

Those things are surprisingly slow, probably because they're heavy. They weigh about 300lbs more than the SS/SC but only have 5 extra horsepower.

Theres a package you can get for the IS 300 that gives you more HP i think 20 and a 6 Speed, this is just as fast or maybe a little fast than the ss, i can't find any info on it though.

The first car i beat was an IS300. He was racing a little Honda, and i took off past both of them. At the next light, he wouldnt even pull up next to me. Why do the guys who drive those cars get all butt hurt when they loose? I like the car, i've driven one, but its not that special.

well you can mess with stock ones all day but keep in mine this car is using the 2jz block and once turboed correctly good luck beating it...

I beat one (badly) ..had rims and an exhaust possibly more but I doubt it ... Dont think he was 6 spd but he got wasted

I don't know if it was 6 spd I had Metallica For Whom The Bell Tolls blaring so I couldn't hear him.

Where did anyone claim the car was supposed to be fast? In any case speed is all relative. The car was pretty fast for a luxury sedan when it was first built. Stock horsepowers have soared since the release of that car, and the powertrain of the new IS has been adjusted accordingly.
