me vs modded e92 m3
me vs modded e92 m3
took a trip to mexico and some random m3 came too.
he tells me all thats done is "some intake and exhaust work"
he tells me he still has his cats too (car is stupid loud tho) and no tune.
anyway, we do 2 40 rolls.
first race, i honk, he hits it before i finish the last honk. he pulls a whole car before i get on it. from then on we were dead even till 135. past 135 he started creeping away slower than a tortoise.
next race, i honk. he reacts a little late (but not much) so i get a about a 1/2 car jump. i put another half car on him till 135 and by 140 he stops my pull but doesnt pull.
it was the closest race ive ever had. i guess those m3's react to mods extremely well because ive beat a stock one with about 300 pounds of extra stuff in the car.

^^^ This. I have been in love with the E46 M3 from the first time I saw one. Nowadays, they are cheaper than ever and there are good deals out there. I'm gonna pick one up as a weekend car when I save enough money. The Laguna Seca Blue is sooo sexy
easy example; my old m62 setup vs my buddies '95 z28. he was running 13.6s and i was running 13.7s. but from a 40 roll i'd stomp him by a few cars every time.
Just an FYI for those that like to keep up with developments on other platforns - Single turbo kit coming to the E92 N54 335's soon, knocking on 600whp (585) with early tuning (93 octane + meth). Should hit 600 easily with another PSI. The next goal will be 700whp. This is on all stock internals. Yes the N54 has reliability issues with certain components like the HPFP, coils, and injectors, but the ability to fix yourself is much better than a couple of years ago. The engine looks bullet proof so far as long as the fueling is right.
