Got a chance to race my friends stock s2000 earlier today. We did three runs out on this empty stretch of highway. Sorry no vids it was kind of a spur of the moment thing.

First run from a 40 roll to 120 I pulled about two car lenths on him I was surprised how quick that thing was for being all motor.

Second run from 60 he initially pulled about a half a car because of the gearing of his six speed but i walked about a car to a car a half length on him up to like 110

Third run again from 40 same result as first time.

It was really weird I have raced quite a few people in this car and this war the first time I have had the little shift light thats built into the gauge cluster come on briefly right as i shifted to fourth gear at redline...anybody else ever had that happen b/c i remember reading on here somewhere last year that usually it never comes on on the SS models because it's designed for the best fuel econ or somthin to that effect. Well anyways just in case anybody cares i thought i would post this.

 

that is really weird. area47 found out that it only came on at 7800rpm. maybe it was just a one time thing

 

Yea thats what I'm thinkin too because I have never seen it do that in the 35k miles I have put on it...

 

my ls does that about 5500 rpms when i get on it...

 

it means youre spinning the motor too high...i downshifted into second at 80mph...it came on then...

i was going for 4th and wasnt paying attention
