Me Vs. SRT-4
Hey scott, how did you run a ET: 12.33 ---- 112.24 mph with Stage 2 on a SRT-4 and everyone is saying that it is possible for overbooost in a stage 2 cobalt to beat a Stage 2 SRT-4. Unless I dont understand your 12.33 ET---- I know that it takes a hell of alot to run in the 12's in a cobalt...

You missed part of my post earlier didn't you

Unfortunately there are probably very few stock cars out there and probably just as many non-stock Stage kitted cars out there too. Most stage kittted cars have many other mods done too. Hell you can run into a Stage 1 car with a 50 trim with 450 whp and 400+ tq. Or you can run into a Stage 1 car with just Stage 1, wga, TBE and only be pumping out 260 whp. Same can be applied with all the Stage kits. Hell I am planning on running a modified MOPAR Stage 3 turbo with my MOPAR Stage 2 no toys PCM setup. High 300 whp is the aim at the moment.
Most are "enhanced" with additional mods that help create more and better performance from the Stage kits.I know my sig is alittle misleading but that is kind of what I was going for.

A stock Stage 2 no toys car will probably be no more than 260 whp. Probably between 250-260 whp. But with additional mods, boost etc... you can push that up to 300 whp and 300+ wtp. Add in a modified stocker turbo and you can possibly see up to 60 more whp depending on mods and tune. Aaronneon on the SRT forums dot com dyno'd a Forward Motion Enforcer 1 turbo (modified stocker, same as in my car) and got it up to a max of 36X whp. Another guy got his E1 up to 37X whp I believe before he went big turbo.
That is why I said that you need to know all the guys mods to know what exactly you beat. If you be me as a S2 you are pushing some really good whp for your SC. At or above 330 whp. If you beat this other guy, S2, then you beat a 250-260 whp car.
Big difference in power, even though they are the same stage.It isn't like you can't find my mods out on my cardomain site. Tuned by me. The 12.3 was with a 12.0 a/f with some KR and no meth flowing. 29* TA.
Now my a/f is 11.5 falling to 10.4 at redline, .5-1.0* KR, 32-35* TA with meth flowing

Read the two bold parts above. What I didn't say is that I am running a modified stocker TD04 turbo that flows just alittle less than the stock Stage 3 turbo for the SRT-4. So basically you are talking about a car that is running about 330 whp (about 380 bhp) and upward of probably high 300's to possibly even 400 wtq. Like I stated, most Staged SRT-4 are not stock staged SRT-4's.

Nice mod list. I'm Stage 1 probably putting down 270 or so wheel horsepower.
If it was S2, it was definitely a poor driver. Hell, my buddy runs 14.5's on the strip and has almost 400whp. He's much more the road course type, heh.
All depends on the driver. Now with a roll race it is alot different. You take alot of the driver skill out of the picture since you only have to shift most of the time from 3rd to 4th gear. But from a dig is where most of the drivers skill will come into play. That is why you can have a stock SRT-4 pull off either a 13.7-13.8 on stock everything or you have a stock SRT-4 pull off a high 14 or even a low 15 1/4 time.
my friend ran a 13.7 with intake and exhaust at 15lbs. Idk what stage 2 srt-4 consist of but wouldnt that get atleast mid to low 13's? Sorry if its a stupid question I know nothing about those cars
Stage 2 no toys consist of: S2 no toys PCM, 682cc (@58 psi), 3 bar MAP sensor (Mass Air Pressure), 3 bar TIP sensor (Throttle Inlet Pressure), and an adjustable wastegate actuator to adjust the boost level.
Stage 2 w/toys consist of: S2 w/toys PCM, 682cc (@58 psi), 3 bar MAP sensor (Mass Air Pressure), 3 bar TIP sensor (Throttle Inlet Pressure), and an adjustable wastegate actuator , and the Turbo Toys module. The Turbo Toys Module hooks into the PCM and allows it to act as a EBC with 4 settings 0-3, High Octane Mod (HOM) which allows you to run more spark timing advancement when race gas is used, and lastly, the intercooler water sprayer.
Stock S2 no toys is about 250-260 whp and 280 wtq

In general, it's not necessary. A lot of people do their 50trim setups and such on the factory PCM (referred to as Stage 0). I got Stage 1 because the 05 factory PCMs were even MORE picky about mods and higher boost (they like to throw codes whenever possible). There are numerous fixes and things you can do, but I'm lazy sometimes, haha.
Stage 2, for some reason, likes to dyno low but pull some pretty impressive traps and track times. It's sort of the red headed step-child stage. Most people skip over it...those who didn't, often augment it with other mods to lean it out (it's piiiig rich) to make even more power.

Exactly, S2 does dyno low for some reason but it does some good times at the drag strip and for daily driving. Yes, most people do augment it with additional mods to enhance it's performance.
Yep, I couldn't hack it with the S0 so I went with S1 first. Then the KR was killing me, even with only 16 psi I couldn't get it to stop. Went S2 for the 3 bar MAP/TIP and the larger fuel injectors so I could run more boost. I am sure I could maybe handle the S1 now but still not sure about the S0 PCM. I will stick with my S2.

Either way with the way you pulled away I don't see him winning that race so it was a win for you regardless of if his car was running well or not.
Biggest issue with people modding is they slap the **** on and don't bother to see how well it will work together with other mods. They expect it to be a plug and play power adder.

oh that traffic is BEHIND you.. lol that is so much better. There is a nice video on youtube of a racing car getting sideways on the highway which slows you down really fast and he got t-boned from the traffic BEHIND him.
