I don't know if it qualifies as a war story but I'll put it here any how. Mods feel free to move it if its not!

I was coming home from work this morning it was about 7am. I'm in the Cobalt sitting at a red light I'm at the front of the line in the right lane. Well in the left lane 1 car back was a State Trooper. I don't give him much thought pretty usual sight. The light turns green I take off like normal. No hard accel, no banging gears. The speed limit is 45, I go from 3rd to 5th. I look in my left mirror and everybody is creeping along. People in Gainesville, Fl are notorious for driving like retards, especially when the police are around... So I turn on my left turn signal and switch lanes, being the right lane ends about 2 miles up the road.

Well I glance in my mirrors again and here comes the piggy at Mach 1 flying up behind me. Had to be doing well over 70. I figure he is going to pull me over. Well I was wrong, after flying up on my ass, he slings the Crown Vic over into the right lane and fly's up beside me. Screaming at me. "Slow the **** down!!!" I look at my speedo, its dead on 45, and its 3mph slow so I was doing more like 42. I look over at him and yell back "I'm doing the speed limit dude". I was being respectful just had to yell over road noise, we were moving. He yells at me again, "I said slow the **** down". At that point I lost my temper who the **** does he think he is? I yell back " WTF is your problem man? I'm doing the GD speed limit? Either pull me the **** over or get the **** out of here!!"

Well he gives me the nastiest look I've ever seen. I figure I'm getting pulled over. How wrong I was, the lane merge was coming up and dip **** is still beside me giving me the stare down. He floors it gets in front of me and then slows down to 10mph under the posted limit. I couldn't pass him, there is so much traffic inbound in the mornings I'm stuck behind whoever. I was stuck behind this asshat almost the whole way home about 40 miles and he kept it 10 under the whole time. When he finally turned off I blew my horn and waved to him. Jerk off...

 

thats right tell him how it is....shulda got his car number an filed a complaint

 

get plates and get him fired.

What commercial was there where the car was sitting still and everyone was yelling slow down and the cop was writing a ticket? Thats you dude!!!!!!

 

I'm serious I did nothing wrong. I left traffic behind but I did not drive like an ass. Everyone around here is scared to drive when the cops are around. I guess he was pissed I didn't bow down like the other sheep.

You know I did look at his tag. I think it was 0764, I was on the phone with a friend at the time too, he was like who the hell are you yelling at?

 

that reminds me of what happened to me and my friends 2 nights ago

in the city, we had just left a bar in my boys mustang. this red chevy van is doing 15 mph in the cross streets for like 5 blocks, so we go around him on the right (on the left was parked cars) never going over 30mph which was the speed limit and accelerating normally.

figures it would be an unmarked police van. they keep us for 45 min and gives him 3 tickets. unprudent speed, excessive acceleration or something like that, and the last ticket was cuz his insurance card had expired a week earlier and didnt put the updated card in his car

i respect good cops but ones that bust ***** and act like asses need to get KTFO

haha...i just remembered...i pulled up to a light a while back an a cop in an explorer came up behind me well when the light turned green i took off an i didnt give a ****...going down the one big hill an up over the other side i was doing like 85 with the cop way back....well we hit the other side of the hill an he pulled me over an said i was doin 75 an a cop at the bottom of the hill had timed me an told him to pull me over....i said i was not doing 75 (cuz i was doin 85) an kept denying it an he said ok then just slow down an let me go..lol....he tried to pull that "my boss timed you at the bottom of the hill so i had to pull you over"...i didnt bite so he hadda bail....sounds like another cop tryna get his jollies cuz you didnt drive like you were his bitch....similar scenario i guess..sry i just hadda share

 

I maybe could understand him pulling me over. I didn't do anything wrong, but you know how they are, they'll find something. I would have taken my lecture or ticket said my piece and went on my way or seen him in court but this jack ass was screaming at me while we are DRIVING down the road. Want to talk about safety? What if someone pulled out in front of us while he was busy acting like a douche? Or perhaps a pedestrian?

 

Its guys like these that give a bad name for the rest of us. Keep in mind that some of these guys became cops because that is the only way they get any respect, even if its out of fear. I had a guy in a red SS one time try to race me while I was in my SS. He was revving the engine and everything, but I didn't bite. The next day, I went on patrol and found the same guy again( small town). Anyway, I stopped him and asked him if he remembered the black SS. He acted stupid until I told him that it was me and he crapped his pants! I gave him a warning and talked shop for a while and now everytime we see each other, we say hi. Morale of the story: Remember, cops also drive SS's!!

 

you can give warnings all you want but i don't believe you can legally get him for something he did a day ago such as speeding just cuz you happened to see it when you were in your pov

I was not trying to get him on anything, just trying to tell him to be careful on the streets..

 

Cool cops are awesome. It's the dumb-***** that give the rest of them bad names. Last summer I was driving down the freeway on my way home and was going with the flow of traffic in my lane, which was slighter faster than everybody else (because I'm a left lane driver). Anyways, in the middle lane is a black unmarked Crown Vic with all the antennas and the limo tint windows. After the traffic in my lane is done passing him he pulls into the left and speeds up. As soon as he can he makes several lane changes to catch up to me. Don't know why I was singled out. After following me for a few miles he flashes his cherries & berries and I proceed to slow down and move over. As soon as I do that he turns his lights off, passes me, and cuts three lanes over to exit the freeway. So I instantly flip him off as he is getting off the freeway ad slowing down. I notice he has a passenger in the front seat of the car, a little aisian girl. He could have just as easily done this behind me without turning on his lights. A few months later I'm at a full service carwash and see another cop car just like it. I soon notice the cop in the waiting room and play it cool and started asking questions such as if that car outside was his. He said yes. So I keep asking all sorts of questions, only to find out he is Highway Patrol (State Police) and only the people who wear suits and drive the black unmarked Crown Vics are the governors security people. So I told him the story of what happened. To my amazement, he apologized and said that I must have the SS in the detail bay. I said yes. He said he was out of line and shouldn't have done that. I was taken back and sort of in shock. He said my car looked familiar because of all the red badges. He also said he only did it because he had one of the governors children in the car and they wanted to play with the lights. And even though he has full titles and power any other officer has he couldn't actually stop me because he had another person in the car. So I apologized for flipping him off with children watching.

The only thing I didn't understand was why do we have a white governor and first lady, but they have aisian children according to the officer. Shortly after the conversation with the cop I find out the gorvernor is big on adopting aisian children. It only made news because the governor was bringing home a new child he adopted from China.

 

Gotta love FHP had one chase me about 5 miles just for a tint ticket, he got caught behind traffic and it took him 5 miles just to get up to me but what kind of cop goes that far out of his way for a tint ticket?

Officially cops don't have quotas. However, I know somebody that is an officer with the county that admits he has to write 13 tickets every week.

 

WOW.....but remember...all FHP does is traffic. Hence why nobody really gets ouot of getting a ticket from one of them.

 

I was expecting to get pulled over when he came flying up like a bat out of hell. I wasn't expecting him to fly up beside me and act like a road raged ******* and then force me to do a speed. Must have a complex or something.

 

Yeah, get him fired for making you drive slower. Maybe he made a simple mistake and thought that the Speed Limit was 35, but instead of pulling you over and writing you an expensive ticket, he makes you drive 35... and you wanna get him fired. Remember that next time you are at work and you make a mistake.

Way to tell the cop what he can and can't do. You're so bad ass... you should go to school to be a Lawyer.

Situations like these suck. But you just need to remember, cop or not... he's just a regular human being doing his job, just like you and I (And TooManyCars). Sometimes they have bad days and sometimes they make mistakes.

As said before, they can be dicks and they can be asses; but you need to think about how much **** they have to put up with on a day to day basis from gangsta's like LamboDoor. That's not an excuse to be a dick... but it helps to understand their situation. The BEST medicine is to appear as happy as can be when someone is trying to be a dick.

 

Oh I laughed about it the whole way home. Gainesville is home of the worst/biggest douche drivers on the planet. I'm used to people doing stuff like this. In the Cobalt its ******* after *******. They pull out in front of you, go side by side with other cars to keep you held up, if they feel you shouldn't go faster than them they will fly past you and then get in front of you and slam the brakes. I think its the car, when I drive my Blazer to work I never have anyone one mess with me. I'm used to stupid drivers just didn't expect it from a cop, sort of threw me off.

why are u takin it so serious.. if the cop is going to say "slow the **** down" why should you sit there and take it when your goin the speedlimit.. like you said hes just a human being and if he wants to be a ******** for no reason yell at him back, i give the kid credit for trying to tell him he was just going the speedlimit then the cop yelled at him again, i'd do the same thing.. i hate cops that think they can do/say whatever they want just because their cops. And i agree with what LamboW9 said about the cop pulling you over becasue he seen you the day before speeding, cops are not allowed doing that so why are u callin him a badass for telling the cop that hes breakin the law?

 

i see you taking up for them and i respect that, but it doesn't matter you still have to stay profesional in uniform or out of uniform. he was way out of line and you know it, specially being a Marine as I'm in the Army. just because he's a cop or a state trooper doesn't give him the right to yell in a none threatening situation.
