Honestly you should tell him to just run a 93 tune, not to mention he should be making 600whp on 93. Race gas isn't worth the 10-15whp he's picking up with it on that set up. People with the same set up on E85 are putting down 700whp.

Can't go by a percentage because every motor reacts differently to it. The gains on the LSJ are awesome, but are not as significant as Evo's and Cobra's are seeing. STI's also see a huge gain on E85. I haven't heard of any Honda motors taking to E85 very well. Not sure if any LNF's have made the switch or not.

I personally have seen a LSJ making 320whp with the stock blower on E85 and it is the only LSJ I have seen run 12's around here.

I would say so. Have a switch installed so you can switch back to 93 though. Don't wanna get stuck in an area with no E85.

2v gt's that were made 10 years ago are pretty slow. About equal with an ss/sc stock for stock. Race a new one with those same mods and it would be very ugly. The 2v gt's need a lot of gear to do any damage in the 1/4 and they have no top end whatsoever. I'd be careful with the "stangs are slow" comments though. The '11 is a whole different animal. The fastest stock turbo lnf has been matched by a full weight 5.0 with a cat back, intake, tune and control arms on street tires.

As far as the e85 conversation that came up on the second page, it's completely dependent on how much 93 is limiting you in the first place. E85 is very resistant to detonation due to compression, much more than your basic gasolines. The effective octane rating is in the ~106-110 range depending on the mix. You have to use about 30% more fuel because ethanol holds less chemical potential energy than gasoline, but the ability to bump up the boost and run some insane timing, along with the cooling properties of E85, can make big gains on certain setups. The most insane gains you will see are on cars with turbo's that are out of their efficiency range or cars that are limited by their compression and boost in general. The perfect example is an sti. Your basic bolt on sti with up/down pipes, tune, maybe a larger intercooler or even an EWG setup will make generally from 280awhp-330awhp/330-360awtq depending on the setup and the tune on 91 or 93. The same car on e85 with bigger injectors and pump to accommodate the extra fuel that's necessary, can make up to 350-370awhp/400-420awtq. I've seen one car with downpipe/injectors/pump/intake only with a tune make 350awhp and 405awtq. It will absolutely rape the same car on gasoline.

lol, did he slam on the breaks?

Stock or lightly modded N/A stangs are useless with the exception of the new 2011 5.0 mustang GT. But nice kill none the less.
