355 on HOM....That turbos gonna loose effeciency around 370ish
what size is the evo's stock turbo? 16g correct? i know of evo's hitting 400 whp on stock turbo and they're awd, so parasitic loss is higher. why couldn't a skittle hit 400 on a 16g?

Dude you're stupid and know nothing about SRT4s and Mopar website rates it on a CATBACK with NO OTHER MODS you idiot.

My friend is putting down 407whp on Stage 3.... with every supporting mod even water injection... There are Stage 2 SRT4s putting down 300+whp for crying out loud

SHAWN, Chuck, Chad please chime in on this thread and tell this guy whats up

Yes, my S2 on stock turbo puts down 285 hp with 342 lbs of torque. We can put down 300 or just over on stock turbo with some decent mods. If we want more than that though we really need to upgrade the turbo.

I easily see a S3 turbo with other supporting mods pushing over 400 hp. Upgraded FMIC, full 3" turbo back exhaust, HOM, Race gas or W/M injection, a few other supporting mods, and some kind of fuel management and I see 400 hp.

Overall I like the balt. Good looking car. Would have bought one if I didn't get the SRT-4 instead. I do think that the GM stage upgrades are kind of weak. Kind of a waste of money IMO. I think you guys get much more for your money going aftermarket.

Good grief, to the SUPER TIMMEH who is saying a MPP cant throw down 400+ WHP your claims should get you banned. Both Chad and Chuck (Chuck I know is on here, but Chad isnt, Chuck is BoostJunky) put down over 400whp on their 15G Stage III turbos. Lets not go around tossing out misinformation like I read all over this board normally.

next thing you are gonna be saying is that Between a GM STAGE II car and a MPP Stage III car is that its a "drivers race"

BASTARD!!! I won't be buying anything from streetbadges anytime soon!!!!!!!

hahaha Just kidding buddy.

I just had to throw that out there...if anyone in a standard GM S2 says they can beat a stage 3 SRT4 they should be shackled and thrown overboard hahaha

Can you guys make plain old silver badges with black writing that says stage 2...without any other emblems on it just wording? PM me if you can

Just a confirmation for anyone doubting that a 15g (Mopar S3 turbo) can't make 400hp, let me just tell you. It's been done time and time again. When I first installed my S3 with just a few minor bolt-ons over what mopar recommends, I put down 375 HP, and 422 ft/lbs TQ. That was with S3 PCM controlled boost, and the S3 waste gate actuator. Since then, I have added a CNC ported and polished head, a larger FMIC(about twice the size of the one I had when I dyno'd 375), a stiffer waste gate actuator which has increased boost by just about 2psi throughout the band, and have a set of cams waiting to go in.

Granted I haven't dyno'd since those mods, but my roommate with the same setup (we've been builiding our cars at the same time with the same build plan) dyno'd just over 400 whp, and about 470 ft/lbs TQ. So needless to say, it can be done. There are people that are putting down over 400 hp without a ported head just by tuning the fuel curve on S3. So, I can only imagine what kind of an effect tuning the fuel curve on my car or my roommate's car would have. I'm sure that 420 HP is definately possible.

Don't worry. I'll update my dyno numbers in the sig as soon as I hit the dyno. I'm not gonna post up theoretical numbers, although I can reassure you, the WHP will be just over 400, and the TQ will be jaw dropping.

HOM is High octane mode, gives it some timing basically.

Yes, was with HOM engaged(as sig says). I was running VP C12 race fuel at the time of the dyno run. I don't have w/m injection as of yet.

It seems like Mopar and other aftermarket companies come out with all kinds of sh*t when the srt-4’s came out, and now they can easily hit 400+hp. So why are GM and aftermarket companies dragging there feet with the cobalt?

Is 300 hp so much to ask for?

because the cobalt got popular slower (it still hasn't sold as many ss/sc as the srt-4 i dont think) and the srt-4 has a stronger motor. plus you have to realize that the aftermarket that usually makes parts for high performance 4 cylinders like your car, the srt-4 and cars like the rsx-s, have very little experience with blowers.

Not to mention you will need to upgrade your pistons to safely run over 300 horse with the SS/SC
