My SS S/C vs. turbo'd mkiii golf

Ok, first of all I feel pretty stupid writing this up, but what the hell, I want the input. I'm not going to go into details about how this "match" got set up, but here is the scenario. I have an 06 ss s/c, with just an intake right now. My friend is taking a 2.0 vw mkiii motor and putting on a turbo from an audi s4 i think. he's essentially gutting the turbo and using just the casing with bigger compressor wheel or whatever it is he is doing. It should be a pretty serious turbo when he's done. He has this guy doing it that knows his stuff. My friends and I are guessing (if it actually runs) that he'll get around 300-330 wheel HP. And there is a lot of speculation and unkowns about this. Initially my friend with the golf said it would be a KO4 turbo, so I know he's just BS'ing me. I wanted to see what you guys think I should get for my car so I am somewhere in the ballpark of 280-300 wheel HP. My budget would be $800-$1,000 and all the labor will be done myself. So like I said, I just want to see what you guys think. Thanks...and sorry for the complete waste of time this probably is.

more than likely. this kid talks a lot and usually never gets anything accomplished. we made a bet in december that he wouldn't get a right hand drive 240 by the time I graduate in May....and guess what, I graduated. this is his attempt to make up the lost money. he has until july 5th to get this car together, tuned, and ready to race.

Get the Stage 3 or 4 kit from INTENSE and that should get you up there. If you have money left over get some other stuff too.

its not the VR6.. the 2.0 is just a 4 banger.. you should still beat him.. if it was the VR6, youd have a bigger problem on your hands.. much bigger

If you can affor to drop a grand def. go to Intense and get the Stg. 4 or 5 kit. Then you should have no worries incase this kid actually comes through. From what you've described though it sounds like this kid does a lot more talking than anything else.

9 times out of 10 this kid is all talk, but he does come through every once in a while. he had an mkii turbo'd golf that had something closer to 400 wheel horesepower. i'm assuming he's going for a similar setup. however, i already purchased 42.5lb/hr injectors, bkr7e spark plugs, maf-t, and next week i'm ordering the wiring harness for the injectors and a 2.8" modular pulley kit. Total will cost me around $300-$350 when all said and done.

And he owes me $100 from the other bet, so this race would be double or nothing. So worst case is I don't get my $100. Best case is I make $200 to go towards more mods.

the 2.slow is a pretty weak motor if i'm not mistaken. it would definitely need a rebuild to go 300hp. but from what it sounds like this kid won't git r done anyways.

guessing all talk and no action on this one, without a rebuild of the bottom end, this thing is gonna grenade by the end of the 1/4 anyway...stage 5 can be had for 1000.00, GET IT...I did...

Wish I didn't worry about my warranty or I'd get the damn stage 5... Spend some money on cheap things such as a torque brace and such like that to improve things you alreayd bought.
