My SS/TC vs new STi

Went down to Nashville tonight to pick up one of my friends from the Airport. Needed some gas and was alittle early so I took an exit before the Airport to go find a gas station. Driving normal and was being tailgated somewhat, or somebody was wanting to run them. Get thru traffic and a new STi with atleast exhaust pulled up next to me and matched my speed, which was 60mph at that point. I took off and he proceeded and I pulled a car or so up til 100mph when we let off because of traffic. Alittle further down the road we get a nice open area so I slowed down to 40mph and waited on him, he paced me for about 5 seconds so I honked it off and pulled about 2 cars from 40 up til 100mph when I shut down. I pull into the next Shell station and he does aswell, and the first thing that comes out of his mouth, "that's not stock is it", LOL. I tell him I have an intake and tune, and he proceeds to tell me he has the same mods except he has an exhaust system aswell. Not bad results, and he was a very cool guy, probably mid to late 30's.

Cliffs:

Raced an STi with exhaust, intake and tune
From 60 roll I pulled 1 car up til 100
From 40 roll I pulled 2 cars up til 100

I raced this guy in my Brother's Car Club in his new WRX with the same mods, except we went from a 30 roll because I guess it's where he shines, and we were dead even, but from a 40 roll I pulled on him.

All in all I'm loving my car more and more everyday, just need to get the catless DP and some new tires, LOL.

Not sure, but it sure as hell seemed like it, since I've raced both a new STi and WRX with the same mods. The WRX seemed to hold his ground better, but he might have had a better tune, or the better driver mod. I believe the WRX has the Cobb tune, and I'm not sure about the STi, he just said he had the same mods I did, meaning intake and tune, plus exhaust. It was fun, and I'm just happy that my SS/TC can hang with some of the "so-called" big boys.

LOL, x2!! Throw some slicks on a stock SS/TC so it can cut 60's like an AWD car, and then who will be laughing. Plus arent most EVO's and STi's mid 13 second cars? Which there have been a few SS/TC's to run that stock, so they're pretty even.

I understand where you're coming from, but you have to realize that my local track sucks ***** and it never gets prepped. I go there about twice a month, run a time or 2 just to see if they have prepped it, and then I'm done. If I had AWD I would complain about roll racing too, so again, your car has its ups and downs and so does mine. Once I get some nice DR's than I'm gonna head to Bowling Green and run the 1/4 mile, but until then I take what I can get.

I have to agree, roll racing is pretty weak. Nice race tho.
