Talking Porsche Carrera S Vs. SS/SC

Well last night I was on my way to the track and I past a 90's model Carrera S on the highway and as I past my friends and I thought nice car, would be fun to race him and just kept on going(older guy 50-60's). Then a few minutes later he gives me a little fly by and just took off. Well he slowed back down and waited for me to catch up. I got up beside him at about 60 and made the jester with my hand to race and he kinda laughed and said yea. I guess he nor I thought I really had a chance, but I figured what the hell I don't get to race Porsche's often. So I dropped it in 3rd and he took off about a split sec before me and we were off. We were so even it was unbelievable close. We went until about 120 (zero traffic on the roads) and I would like to say I was a few inches ahead but like I said it was super close. We slowed down and he rolled his window down and yelled **** that thing is fast gave each other a thumbs up and went on our way. I went on to the track had 9 runs and lost 2 of them. I ran 2 BMW's, 1 WRX, 1 CRX, 1 SRT-4 twice, and a Prelude twice. My 2 loses were 1 to the CRX that ran a 12.5 and 1 of the 2 races to the SRT-4. Well thats my story Thanks for reading.

Nice run... I was gonna call BS... but then I looked up some times on the mid-90's non turbo 911's.

272hp 3.6L 6-cyl.
0-60 in 5.5-6.0 (manual vs auto)
1/4th in 14.0-14.5 at barely over 100.

Definately SS/SC territory... espectially from a roll.

Good job there!

Also when I was at the track there was a young KID out there with a Ferrari F430 spider and I tried to get him to race me but he wanted to race a Camaro SS and said he would race me next. Well he ran a 14.7 and just left and was nowhere to be found. Man I know they are faster than that but I would love to have taken advantage of that 20 year old kids driving skills and spank him with the Cobalt.

I really don't like to street race and when the rare occasion happens that I street race if there is traffic it is out of the question. The fastest I have ever gone on the highway was 120 mph and I am ashamed to admit it. I think that is way to fast for the street but damn this car does it so fast and without a problem. YOu look up and then look down and you are there. I don't street race much but I am not against street racing if it is done responsibly. Thanks for the props! enjoy some rep.

Well at 2300' above sea level I ran a 14.0 at 104 with a 2.4 60'. I also just learned how to altitude correct my times if it really matters to anyone and it comes out to 13.5 at 106. I always new that the altitude I am at was slowing me down but I didn't know there was a way to calculate it. When I was back home in Texas elevation was never a big factor due to the fact that it was only 400' above sea level.
