So driving to work today...as I look in my rearview mirror, I see a car weaving in and out of heavy morning traffic most probably to catch up with me.
At first I thought it was the cavalier with the fart can I passed about a mile back...but as it grew closer I new it was a cobalt...then when it finally got next to me, I saw that it had the SS badges on it, my first thought was I finally see an SS Cobalt on the road...then as he mashes the gas and hardly moves at all...and cuts over in front of me, I notice that it has LS badges on the back...WTF...so I give it a little gas...while he's still WOT...and ride his butt for a bit...pissing him off probably b/c his fake SS can't pull away from me as it sounds like hes pushing the car so hard that his fart can could explode at any moment...then I slow down because of traffic as he continues to weave in and out of it to try and think hes "getting away" from me.

If he wanted an SS...he should have bought one...but trying to impersonate one...geez...better try harder then that.

 

Did it have an LS wing or an SS and where they steelie rims?

 

LS wing...didn't check out the rims...but i'm pretty sure that since the SS has a lot nicer rims I would have noticed them...first thing I looked for was the SS badge on the side...and it was there...but then I saw the LS badge on the back.

 

At least he didn't have a type R badge next to the SS lol

i find the idea rather funny. if the people are that dumb, you could tell them that you have a base cobalt with no options and you threw some old camaro ss badges on yours, and bought a wing from ebay lol... when he asks how you beat him so bad, tell him you have a 300hp b-19 honda engine in yours

 

I saw a cavalier with Honda symbols on it one day... that guy must have been --->

 

That sucks, but look out for some fast Cavy's. I got beat by a couple turbo cavy's at the GM small car back

I finally saw an SS cobalt today...'bout damn time

 

yah appearnce wise they look the same expect for the LS wing, and the rims are more of shiny metal finish instead of the gunmetal look. The just lack the Supercharged 2.0 Ecotec engine. I had a SXT, that looked like a SRT4 come along side me one night, I handed him his ass and thought man that guy couldnt drive, then I let him drive by me and I saw his SXT badge on the rear.

 

this problem will only get worse as the N/A SS's come out. Will be seeing many more of these stories in the future.

 

I am not really worried about other cobalts getting beat

 

Yah i say the same cause....no pun intended but its your loss not anyone elses...one because you have a non SC engine and 2 because you probly lost the race...IMO the non SC SS isnt worth it....its like they say go hard or go home

 

Some guy where I stay at has a Cougar with the CORVETTE crossed flags emblem on it...

Are you kidding the Type R Cobalt SS is nasty!! it has a 75hp upgraded cat-back with a 5 HP type R badge !!!!!!!!

scooby..there is a 'fake' ss s/c out there on north oak. its blue, has the ss body style and wing, but different wheels, and no ss badges. some girl drives it i think. but i hear shes cute...and drives a stick...in a nice blue car...still worth checking out

I noticed that. That guy with the Orange Cavy lives near me. Dumped a lot of money into that car. He has the pic on his site of him beating you.

 

First thing I look for on a SS is the wheels. No LS or LT can ever put our, or the SS S/C wheels on their car due to the 4 bolt vs 5 bolt hubs.

And yeah, I saw an 2006 LS coupe at a dealership with hub caps and a SS S/C wing
