im a not big fan of ss inposter, but i really have no room to talk. I have a 94 camaro, the originaly was a v6 camaro, full loaded with all options. I then ripped out the v6, stuck a 350 in it. Put on the SS badges, along with the spoiler, ram-air hood, and bought some vette rims for it. Its not a "real SS", but it damn well like one, and runs like one.

heres a pic.

Repainted the entire car, with a custom mixed color, painted the one of kind center strip.

I love the camaro, and i love the cobalt.
Cobalt=real SS/SC
Camaro= Fast SS look-a-like.

Plus no one witha brain with an SS would put LS badges on it. Secondly if it was a 2.4L SS and he stepped on it---you know---cause they go pretty damn good.

About 0,7 slower in the 1/4. Yeah its slower but not a big amount. I hate the 2.4L SS bashers

I saw what appeared to be a Saleen Mustang, it might have been had a nice rumble to it, but it had 3 to 5 Nissan GT-R emblems on it.

I hate fake badged cars in general ....becasue anyone who would know what the SS means would also know that the particular car is not an SS

the only people fooled by fake badges are people who wouldnt notice in the first place ..it dosn't make any sense

Yeah man, thats soo true. The only people who know what the badges stand for are car nuts like us, and we are also the people who can spot a fake.

I keep seeing more and more Dodge "SRT-Designs 2.0SX" cars running around.

You know, the 2.0SX regular 132HP car on 15 or 16 inch wheels with the SRT wing, exhaust and hood scoop.

I was out in my wife's Lancer the other day, didn't want to ruin my fresh wash job b4 taking her out that evening, and I had one rev at me at a light. I smoked him LOL. Was funny to see his face.

I dunno...I happen to love my 2.4 SS. So if that's what you cinsider a "fake SS", that's alright. But it's not slow. I can hang with the new Civic si's based on magazine tests and that has 200 hp. lol. *shrugs *

Just a heads up fro you. I relaize magaines have had brief reviews of the Civic Si--but to my knowlwdge no formal instumented tests. They are quoting Hondas estimates---which seem real conservative. Should do better then 7.5

And I think it might be a touch quicker then my 5 speed 2.4L SS. But an auto will be noticeably slower. How much I don't know. Hopefully we'll see test numbers for all cars involoved soon.

I don't think it was an SS...they said it had an LS badge on the back also. Like they said a fake SS.

Well. i'm happy with my base w/o options. i didn't buy a ss s/c because 1.they didn't have them out yet when i bought my car 2. it costs way to much 4 my blood and insurance 3. My base won't look they same as every elses, not to say that everyones here looks the same, but i like to start out with a blank canvas and work my way up to be something totally different. BUT yea.. i still love the ss s/c though..

Even as a poor-ass bastard with a base coupe with a taste for better equipment, I vow never to put any ******* fake badges on my car... It pisses me off when people mismark their hardware...Almost as much as peeps with nice equipment not knowing anything about it.

A few years ago, I once saw a guy gassing up a Sebring Silver '96 Corvette Collector's Edition and I asked him if he had an LT-1 or an LT-4 in her... Guy looks at me as if I'm speaking in Chinese, then I ask him if he's got an auto or a manual...He says auto and I tell him he's got an LT-1 as I shake my head in disgust...

Peeps w/ too much money who don't appreciate their cars should be f'n SHOT!

Not if it works to your bennefit. I know a guy that bought a '96 LT4 for the price of an LT1, because the previous owner debadged it and I guess the dealer didn't run the VIN right.

The civics look like something might have happend where they we designing them. Something like one night the janitor was cleaning the room and knocked the civic clay model onto the ground nose first. Then he smothed it out and nobody noticed. Thats my thinking anyway.

I liked every year Civic until these. Maybe after seeing them more...but not now. And I mean...me and Civics go way back. lol. Me and my friend are building up a '90 CRX Si too. Complete sleeper. All stock, rusty as ****, but very fast. haha. I've always been into how they looked...but these new ones just look like a big wedge.

* thumbs down *
