The MS3 is one of the worst platforms for making fast. You need a complete engine rebuild to make good power, and even then they cant seem to make much over 400 whp.
The MS3 fails because of its shitty PCM, and crappy internals. Having a stock car that gets rod knock is NOT good.

2nd time: I got the car back and the next day the starter blew, another tow and a day later I got it back again and went about my business.
3rd time: Three weeks later, the car died again, in the same manner, driving along and it just dies. This time it was the timing in the cam which caused damage to the engine.

thats only 4 posts lol. And number 8, hahaha, it happened 3 times to the same car. It's just a shitty ass car. If they had a better engine i would buy the car in a heartbeat. But come on, blowing a rod stock LOL, that is ******* fail.

heck my buddy had one and it was acting weird.. all stock.. it started to over heat and he got out popped the hood... it flashed and the car blew up like no lie.. he has burn scars all over his body and has a lawsuit goin wit mazda...

1. I do feel the engine issue is over blown. I mean there are engine failures in every car yes even the SC and TC cobalt, but I think more mzr's are blowing. Some say its crank walk..lack of oil blah blah. Anyway I have 35k miles on my car and beat the **** out of it daily with no issues. Seems if its babied they like to blow up.
2. yes the ms3 imo feels slow stock, I just was stock for a dealer visit and wow it felt neutered. Once with some bolt ons its up at 300hp to the wheels. So yes it can be a worthy competitor.
Id still like to go at it with some TC's and SC's. I see rallyracer at least once a month and we never have really raced yet ahaha. idk why people get so crazy over this racing **** and omg i beat a ms3 or TC SS, specially if one is stock and yours is modded. big whoop hell if you look on the Si forums they think beating a 2.4 SS is like beating all SS's and if you had a TC and miss shifted they'd rave about how they beat a TC SS. but whatever.

Hey man I don't venture very far from home anymore to chill with people unless it's to meets lol I probably couldn't even get to my friend's house again without him giving me directions lol. But I just know it was the 215 in Rialto, and it was a charcoal gray MS3 with black wheels and HID's and it was loud as hell

I wouldnt say the CSRT is a better car than the MS3 at all. Your going off of a few posts in a chat forum to base your debate around the stock engine. I personally am not a fan of Mazda, I own a 05 Mazda 3 and its not reliable at all. However it drives much nicer, and looks far better than the caliber, which sales numbers clearly indicate is an Edsel like flop... The only people I ever hear claiming the Caliber doesnt look "That Bad" are people who work for dodge, or people who bought one and dont get style. I mean someone had to buy all those green v6 dodge darts back in the day. There will always be people who buy ugly cars...
You will be making a big mistake if you get a caliber. Even with all the storage area dodge has even found a way to screw that up, there's next to no features to help you with cargo storage such as bins tie downs (they only have 2... ghey)... etc. So enjoy.
I went back to give one another look yesterday and yeah , the chillzone is pretty cool, your gonna need all the booze you can take to make this thing look good tho.
Went out on another testdrive, it handled like a rollerskate... and body roll was like a 70's Dodge Van.
Stock power is def less than the TC Balt, MS3, Or WRX265 I have recently driven. I hate the seating position in the caliber too up to high, and it just feels like a truck.
Sure with some work, the car can be fast, but then again, throw money into anyting, and it can be made fast. There's a flaming outhouse that runs low 12s.. Its a just a waste of money imo.

I'll tell you what was wrong you were at 60mph which is a horrible zone to start out in in our cars. try a 40 in second.
cobb has. its a handheld you can order or you can go to the shop and get a crazy custom tune. my buddy is pushing 18 psi, upgrade front mount intercooler and a massive intake where the old intercooler was, turbo manifold and full exhaust. I know he was over 350 whp. thats pretty impressive if you ask me. he told me one of his speed3 friends that ive never met is doing a 35r build very soon, and that was 3 or 4 months ago so it may be done. we go to different colleges so we dont get to meet up as much.
