was it the coupe or sedan or vert? Just asking because the weights differ. I quoted you for the sedan.

It was a sedan. Maybe i was mistaken and it was a G35. It was one of them.

Depends on the year. My father owns a 2003 g35 6spd and it has 280 hp. It was boosted to 30x After it was already out for a few years.

The auto tranny versions also have less HP then the 6 spd models for 2003 and 2004. Maybe some of the newer ones also

It was def newer. Had a newer body style. Had to be a 2006+. Thats why i'm not sure it was a G35 or G37

Lets see you trap 99 and they trap like 102-103, that doesn't sound right! he should have walked you, must have been a poor drive or wrong gear or something. Those cars are pretty strong, my friend has one and we have raced a couple times and it will no doubt pull a stock RL/SC especially from a roll.

You can definitely tell the difference between a G35 and a G37.

The new G37s come with an available AWD. But if it's anything like the GT-R's AWD, I would pass on it...

That's interesting, why? I don't like that car and never aspire to own one but the whole reason that car can handle like a ZO6 weighing in at near 4k lbs is its all wheel drive system. I may not like it but I respect what it does and how!

Just curious as to why you think that...

You should have said that, it isn't the all wheel drives fault the tranny can't stand up to the launches. If a Ford GT started blowing tanny's would you blame it on the rear wheel drive system??? The all wheel drive "system" on those cars is pretty impressive, the transmission on those cars is pretty fragile!

You make a good point. But I always assumed that it was the AWD that put too much strain on the tranny in the first place. And if it had been RWD they wouldn't be having as many issues.

Idk. I'm drunk.

he said it was a sedan. the 07-08 G35 Sedan looks just like the 09 G37 sedan. they changed the G35 to the G37 because they changed form a 3.5 liter engine to a 3.7 liter engine.

drunk? Ah to be in college again (thursday nights!), I will be near UTA later tonight, where are we drinking at?

your right, if it were rear wheel drive it wouldn't have that same problem more then likely, but it would also be slower around a road course but a little faster in a straight line when moving. There are always trade offs...

Exactly. They look so alike now. I can easily spot an older G sedan because they're fugly

07-08 G35 sedan auto still runs a 13.8-14.0 1/4 mile bone stock, my dad has an 08, pulls A LOT harder than the cobalt did. A 1st gen G35 sedan would be about even as it runs mid 14's.
