Some Fun

Last night the gf and i were heading home and i saw an 80's something camaro burning down the road. i chased after him and we lined up at the next light. i know it was a v8, loud as hell. he had his subs blairing but i blurped the throttle a few times and the light turned green! He had me for a second off the line but i passed him up! the road was also wet so i didnt have great traction through 1st-3rd. we went to about 70mph and he let off so i cut over into his lane. then he sped up again and started to pass me so i down shifted and pulled with him again and slowly passed him. he cut back over behind me to get in the left turn lane and motioned for me to roll down my window so i did. he asked if i had done anything to it and i said i just swapped muffler with an SS and have a SRI. he said he had an 06 balt but was in the garage at the moment. light turned green and we parted ways. all i know is he was suprised and so was i! had a lot of fun. made my night and the end of an exhausting week at work

Racing on a road wet enough to spin in 3rd on a 2.2 is a pretty bad idea..racing a rwd beside you..

Early to mid 80's camaro's are 16+ second cars, Silly emissions choked v8's.

I'm sure it was running fine if you didn't freight train him. They're not fast at all without F/I or Nitrous.

Even the Z28's of that era were slow. Former classmate of mine has both a 1985 Z28 and a 2000 V6 Camaro, and he admits that the 3800 is faster than his Z28. He has the Z primarily as a show car.
