Ran into a pretty sounding srt8 jeep and did a few pulls with him that all pretty much came out even, haha got a bunch of thumbs up from the guys in the jeep and we returned em. Pulls were from 55-90 or so, haha was alot of fun. Nice to run into cool guys who can have fun without hating on eachother.

 

I would like to run an srt8 jeep. Good thing you didn't race from a dig cuz you would of lost every time :P

Stock for stock? Did you have Drag Radials or slicks?

 

Yeah from a dig i woulda been playing catch up for quite some time, if i ever caught him at all.

 

Na i didnt have any slicks or anything but all i had was a tuner he was running a 15 all night and i was running a 14.7 (elevation) and when we raced I ran a 14.8 and he ran a 15.0

 

i lilke those SRT8 jeeps more as opposed to the SSTB. idk how they compare on track. but i guess im more of a jeep guy... i never owned a SUV or will i ever own one def not. i think its the dual exhaust coming out the center that takes me.

I love the Srt-8 Jeeps. 420hp AWD. I love the advertised 0-60 in under 5sec WET or dry.

 

they look nice lowered too

 

unless you are modded or tuned i have a hard time believeing this story... first of all they are faster in any situation until you get to the higher speeds where drag slows it down...from a dig it would destroy you even witha bad driver and especially with both vehicles sporting 4 people and he has gobs more torque than you... there is no way you stayed with him... the cobalt is fast til ya add people and it slows down considerably. you may have stayed with him in which case i'd say he wasn't tryng that hard. Not saying it's not possible but it's unlikely.

 

They really aren't that quick from a roll. low 10X's as far as trap goes. I messed around with my buddy's in my dad's car which traps, eh 110ish and on the highway it wasn't even remotely close, i'm talkin bus lengths upon bus lengths. They can run low 13's with the right driver, but they launch hard as *****. From a roll, I can definitely see this happening. They are real heavy, plus you never know what's in the trunk/back seat. Plus they're all autos, could have a dead spot at 55, I don't really know.

 

BS unless you are racing some place in the sky with 1234890173489017490257 elevation no srt8 jeep is running 15's...

 

yeah I find this hard to believe even on the highest track on the hottest day. But I do believe you pulled him iv'e ran a few myself there speed from a dig is much better than from a roll.

 

it wasnt a srt8 if u had him the whole way. They pull 1.7-1.8 60 foot times, they launch HARD

 

at elevation forced inducted cars have an advantage over NA cars. SS camaro's (The new ones 1SS and 2SS models) dont even break into the 13's here in arizona at firebird.

 

Truth. well the first part at least, I don't know about firebird.
