I personally see nothin wrong with debate, but I was commenting on the SS/SC vs. SRT4 threads. They are easier to find than a used honda. No discrimination meant by the honda comment, only that I see a ton for sale in the local paper.

I don't doubt that you beat the dude. I've beat a lot of cars that didn't give me a second thought. But Imagine me heading over to the Evo forums and posting that I killed an Evo on the highway with my mostly stock SS. **** would hit the fan.

There are also two main reasons why pretty much everyone in the car community hates us...

1.Most people either LOVE GM, or HATE GM...there's really not much inbetween. The ones that hate GM think that anything that GM produces is a pile of **** and is also a slow pile of **** to boot.

2.The other are owners of various other sport oriented vehicles that Don't like GM but understand that GM can and does produce strong contenders in the performance car market. These are the people that realize what we have and feel very threatend by it, so they hate it and us as well.

There is also a sub-class of Cobalt haters amongst the rest that doesnt fit in either of the two above. These are owners of GM vehicles like the Corvette and Camaro. These guys pretty much think that if it don't gotta V8 under the hood it aint worth a ****.



These are just some things I've noticed over the last 5 months of owning my car. Not everyone in the auto world is like this, but it's still pretty bad at this point. It may take a long time before our cars are excepted by auto enthusiasts as a whole, it's also possible that people may just always hate our cars. We will just have to wait and see.

 

The thing that upsets me, is if you look at all my posts on the SRT forums I've never said anything negative about the SRT-4, I've said on numerous accounts that I think they are awesome performers and that many of my friends drive them. And even after posting a dyno-sheet and a video, and STILL not talking bit of negativity, the excuses come flying in about "oh he was pulling in the end" "he was shifting slow" I mean c'mon, who are you to judge when you weren't even there when we were filming? I think it's really dissapointing that you cannot even try to "open" people's minds and show that hey Cobalt SS is a great performer too; maybe not as quick as the SRT-4, but it's still a great vehicle all around....but people just want to shoot you down like your a heretic throwing blasphemy around like monkey crap.

 

tofu...i saw your vid awhile back...didnt you win that last race when you started shifting easier vs slamming the gears? youd think that would have been proof enough.

 

Yeah, the other races I was shifting pretty hard and when I'd hit 2nd gear the car would bog down bad from wheel hop. So I decided on that last race to kind of "ease" it into 2nd, I didn't get any wheel hop which helped out a lot. Granted my buddy Jay (SRT-4) was pulling pretty good, I think it was the extra RPM's on hand that helped me catch him while he was shifting.
In no way am I saying the cobalt is faster at all, in fact we were all surprised @ the outcome of the races (on and off camera), I just want to show people that it isn't an impossible thing to do.

BTW, thanks for being a little more open minded, all my friends w/ SRT-4's that I know are all cool guys....not sure why on the forums people want to be sour-****** for a lack of a better term.

...not many people accept defeat...it makes there ego's shrink and simply pisses them off...it takes a true man to accept that he was infact defeated...but that defeat will only make him try harder to win next time. thats how i am neways.

hijacking thread momentarily...speaking of accepting defeat theres always gonna be one incodent that happened last year and the strip...on street leagal drags night i raced this built honda hatchback with a b16/SC and i was bone stock at the time....and he won by a good 2-3 car lengths...i said "you wanna go again"....he said "whats the point? you'll just loose again" ever since that night ive been stewing on what that A$$ hole said....and since then ive bought exhaust, Race FMIC, and ill have about 1400 to spend in about 2 months im looking forward to Owning that Honda A$$!......im done ranting continue with the regularly schedualed posts...

 

Even if you didn't intend to troll, you've seemed to **** off a lot of srt4 owners.
