SS S/C vs modded 06 WRX
I im drving normal and i see these too cars racing and all i could see that one was a Infiniti G35. So I get around the cars in front of me and it turns out to be a new style WRX. His mods were turboback exhaust, downpipe, intake, and a chip (Cobb i think he said). We go from 40 twice and each time I pulled him. 40-115ish I had a 1 1/2 car on him. The first time was wierd bc i pulled more than the second time. O well I am happy I finally won

Oh i'm not saying they are slow or anything. I'm just saying that the stock dinky turbos suck on the highway which is where the 06 probably lost. I should know, I used to use one of those crappy turbo's.

try runnin one from a dig.... my buddys ss walks me from a roll all the time... he easily puts 2 cars on me... and im makin 50whp more than he does... but from a dig its alot different... i put a good 4-5 cars on him from launch and it stays that way till 100.. then he starts to catch me...first time ever at the track i ran a 12.9 @106 but i should be runnin low to mid 12s.... when my buddy finishes buildin his engine we/ll post sum vids for u guys to show u the difference between a roll race and a dig between an ss and a wrx...

Hahah yeah I'm aware I went from a small turbo to another small turbo. gimme a break...I'm poor! hahaha lol! I'm going 20G or 30R in the summer after the 6spd. swap. 20G if I keep it 2L or GT3071R if I can pull some extra loot outta my ass and go 2.5L
VF39 is a small turbo still but its still good for getting the car into the 12's if you do all the supporting mods. Also a 30/34/39 is still pretty good for street. Definitely helps give the car some better top end. I used to have crappy ass top end with my stock TD04.
I think an IHI turbo is a good upgrade. You can squeeze a good amount of HP outta the stock STi turbo's How is it not worth it? It gives a ton more top end compared to the crappy stock wrx turbo's. IMO, its the cheapest and one of the best hp per dollar ratio. I got my turbo used for under a few hundred and I gained like 60 whp including supporting mods after I did the turbo upgrade. Not many other mods u can do for under a few hundred and get that much hp outta it.

After I finish my "project car", I might go GT30 or 35.

well the other weekend my buddies brother in law came over to watch UFC on TV and he said that he had fixed his 05WRX and that he wanted to runn em. He blew through a stop sign and then went into traffic when it was snowing and had directionals that he had just put on the car. about $3500 worth of damage and he had no insurance on it.
He doesn't know about my mods so I told him to wait for the summer at the strip as I chuckled under my breath.
