Sorry in advance if this is the wrong Forum

How do ya'll think a Stock SS/Sc would do against a stock 05-06 SSR?
Dig, roll, straight line, mountain road....doesn't matter.

SSR would win; 390-400 hp is pretty respectable. They are pretty porky though. (4700 lbs)

yes, the 05 had the LS1 engine and the 06 got the LS2. The 05 would not be hard if I remember correctly it was a major disappointment, very slow. The 06 is basically a heavy corvette with an auto. It would be an interesting race.

Actually both 05 and 06 had the same engine, but 06 has a touch more power. It's the 03-04 that are slow as hell - they had the 5.3l Silverado engine in it. Only 300 horses.

I drive rhem at my work and even with all that power they are very sluggish and sont really produce power untill the high rpms and by then we should be gone. I think with a good driver in the SS/SC we would win.

My dad owns an 06 SSR slingshot yellow LS2 and six speed and i have driven a cobalt SS/SC and i can say from experience that they are fairly evenly matched. The SS/SC will definitely get the jump, but once the SSR reaches about 4K rpm they will be neck and neck.

In the end i would say it could go either way based on the drivers!

Hi Blue Ghost -

One of my neighbors has a sweet ls2 SSR - beautiful vehicle.

He got up behind me one night and was revving on me, so I rolled to the top of first and then hit second and went WOT. I put several lengths on him in an instant.

I was in my z06 though....

In the Cobalt I would have been sniffing SSR exhaust in my opinion.

I think a stock ls2 SSR is a pretty even match for say a stock ws6 trans am etc, maybe a tad slower. This is just my guestimation.

best regards -
