SS/SC vs 335i - This Weekend

So my friend's coming home with his "new" 2007 BMW 335i Coupe. So far he's got dual intakes, but I'm pretty sure it just replaced the stock filters with cone ones. It's purely a for fun race, we're best friends and it's not really "fair" to compare a $20k car to a $8k car haha.

If you're not familiar it's a 3.0 liter, inline-6, twin turbo. 300 horsepower. But it weighs 3,500 lbs.

How do you think I'd fare against him... from a roll. Thinking a 30 or 40 roll.

Mods:
ZZP 2.8" Pulley
Siemens 60# Injectors
ZZP 2.5" Catback Exhaust
ZZP 3" Intake
HPTuned by BrianTheLion26

I'll post with results and maybe a video if there's someone else with us

Video:

We did 3 runs, the first two I had a slight jump and out ran him until we hit 100, then he started creeping, and we left off around 115-120 everytime

The last run (the video) I delayed it thinking he would be, but he jumped.

We're about exactly the same, I have the lead until about 90ish, then he creeps.

Until he gets a tune....

I had a "run" with one this past saturday. It was from a 55. He kinda just floored it and I chased but my car bounced off rev limiter shifting into 3rd (auto problems) after that I was creeping on him til 120 when we shut down. Had 3 cars on me because I kinda waited after he took off and then the rev limiter bs. Lol.

You should beat him. I'm only at 16-17* of timing midrange and 19-20 uptop. Lol

Hahah I hope so, this gives me confidence.

He's also an automatic with the triptronic/geartronic/dsg whatever the hell it's called in a BMW.

on my old setup i did ran a 335i 6 speed with downpipes once and it was a bad beating for him. had him by more than 2 cars from 40-100. with your new setup it might be a closer race. (i did not know you downgraded to 60s)

the car was very reliable the way i had it. it was rich just on iddle, normal speeds was normal and WOT was what it was tuned for..

but id like to see the race anyways, i hope you make him see tails

If it only has intakes, it should be a good race and you should edge out. With intakes and tune though he would get you.

We couldn't get it to idle properly on the 80's and normal driving it was still around 11 for me

and your old setup as in the turbo or with the 2.8?

Auto they aren't super quick on the highway, they run out of MPH badly over 120.

It's a good run for my Z in stock form, which is only about a 103mph car, so if the car didn't get slower you should have no problem, as Jon would give me a good run with my Z as it is now.

Haha this.

With full bolt ons and a tune these things can run like 400whp on the stock turbos iirc.

Yeah they're no joke with just simple bolt-ons and a tune. They wake right up like the lnf's, just on a different level.. haha

you will most likely win but just to let you know, the N54 is really 320-330hp as tested by multiple independent sources so when you beat him you can feel even better because it has more than 300hp lol

They do, but they need downpipes an e85 to make it a real monster. I'm probably shy of 450whp 480wtq. I just finished installing an inline fuel pump.. man that is a bitch.

Anyways, just best to race and leave bench racing out.

That was his debate (he just got the car 2 weeks ago). There was a sedan xi manual or a coupe i auto.

vs a turbo lsj a stock 335i will get rapped from any end

I raced one too, and didn't look good for them lol they were like ~40 runs and i think it was a stock one unless they had some bolts-ons and exhaust(because it sounded good at wot), two kids in the car trying to show off and even after 3 races they still wanted to keep trying lol
To compare my car, it is at about the same level as your car with previous tune.
