SS/SC vs. '99-'04 Stang GT? No race.
SS/SC vs. '99-'04 Stang GT? No race.
Misleading title? Maybe.
Just picked up the SS/SC a month back, been around them for a long time, well aware of where it stands stock etc. It's fun to toy with, but I've learned my place with a few cars.
I occasionally eye a car I think might make good for a couple pulls, it was around noon though, moderate traffic, and I notice a blue '99-'04 Mustang GT merge, the typical Mustang wheel upgrade, exhaust, looked really clean. With an approaching red light I lane hop, and get next to him, matched throttle, downshifted and slowed side-by-side. Cars in front, conditions far from ideal, I'll settle with continuing my commute. Ironically I'm off to pick up a front wheel bearing for my SS.
Strangely the Mustang proceeds to pull up next to my passenger side leaving a gap in front of him, and rolls down his window. I politely smile as he proceeds to ask me "what engine does that got in it?" I spill out the 2 liter supercharged nonsense, all stock. He then asks about the turbo model in relation to mine, I admit it's impressiveness, my desire for one, yet being content for now. After such he brought up the Hot-Rod Mag article regarding the LSJ and exclaimed how impressed he was, I share my happiness on that article, light goes green, he exclaims "nice car" and we part ways and he merges onto the oncoming freeway ramp. My facial expression rather blank as to the exchange that just took place.
Amazing how much recognition this car gets for being an economy GM car, and stock at that. I haven't been able to walk into an auto-parts store without a comment regarding a magazine article, or my "Saab" engine.
It's a good feeling

Motoring 2009
This has very little to do with this thread but just happened to trip across the video last night while reading their site
More magazines and shows need to be like these guys....if you go under the 2008 tab watch the review of the CSRT-4 (nothing on the TC yet, bastards
)

theres nothing I hate more than a biased car mag....
x2...I watch C&D and Motoring and always find Motoring to be the least biased by far. I sent them a note asking for them to do a test drive on the TC because I'm curious what they'd have to say, but with it being done in 2010 probably a fat chance on that one
.
I don't get why so many people on here have so many problems with people bad mouthing their car. Since buying the TC I've never once had anyone call it a POS or something of that nature and have received nothing but compliments on it and the job GM did on the TC.

people are uneducated and draw conclusions on appearences, or what other people say, instead of checking it out for themselves.
this is where ignorance starts and ends.
I had the 2-valve jokes ready too.
Considering the platform he drove versus mine made the whole shock factor.
However if one more jackass wants to race for "pinks" I'm going to smack the **** out of them. Have to take the good with the bad.
